Rodeo Join The Deathwatch In New Turn Based iOS Game
March 19, 2015 by brennon
Rodeo Games who bought us the Warhammer Quest video game for both Mobile & PC are also working on a new Space Marine project, Deathwatch: Tyranid Invasion. You can check out the slow building trailer for this turn based strategy game above...
You play as a Kill Team of Space Marines called into service with the Deathwatch. The Deathwatch are a selection of Space Marines drawn from all different Chapters where they do battle against the xenos threats that seek to destroy humanity. It's pretty awesome being part of the Deathwatch, I played as my Space Wolf character Ivar in the Fantasy Flight Games role-play.
The game will feature both single and multi-player with the former being a chance to build a five man squad which grows over time with new skills and abilities added to your own 'Codex' allowing you access to bigger and better weapons to deal with the threats facing your squad.
Deathwatch also has a 'rogue-like' element to its gameplay where if one of your marines dies they lose all the unspent XP they had which gives you a bit of risk and reward to consider. Once you've got a marine to the level you like you can then take him into multi-player and fight alongside three friends.
I certainly like the sound of this and I hope it comes to PC as well as iOS.
Would you join the Deathwatch?

Looks cool, but I want a gameplay video!
Not a video game player. Dave plays the quest game – sure he’ll want this.
If you’re wanting an idea on how it might all play, Rodeo games have already released Hunters: Episode 1 and Hunters 2.
Build a 4 man squad; 3 types of armour (light / medium / heavy), equip with different weapons (not a thunderhammer / pistol and sword / rifle / sniper rifles / etc), then go off to planets and fight other humans / not tyranids.
I don’t expect a radical departure from Hunters 2 tbh; that isn’t a bad thing because it is a great little game and I certainly got my money’s worth.
I really enjoyed both the Hunter games and would be more than happy if they just did those with SM skins on.
Some updates would be good though.
Looks cool, like that its turn based too .. getting really infuriatingly tired of iOS exclusives though. Warhammer DLC-quest went PC eventually, so hope this does too.
Cheesy trailer, I hope the game itself is good.
looks good a bit like a advanced space crusade pc game?
Did like space crusade 🙂
