There is an UNBELIEVEABLE amount of great shiny things in the swag bags this year! Big items include a Dropzone Commander Scourge set, Warmachine Convergence of Cyriss Battlegroup, a Wrath of Kings faction starter box, and Robotech sprues! Lots of single minis and plenty of coupons for money off! Do you hear that sound? My credit card swiping....

The partial swag bag has some pretty great shiny things as well, including Relic Knights minis, at least 5 other single minis, paint, a brush, a Hordes rulebook and plenty of great coupons.

Dawn welcomes everyone to day 1 of the greatest 4 days in miniature gaming in the US. Please follow us throughout the next four days for amazing sights and sounds. Be on the lookout for prizes too!

The first rounds of Infinity are on the way. There is a really great mix in table styles with really nice use of the modular pieces we've talked about on the site.

Gamers are playing Warmachine & Hordes with some brilliant resin terrain from Cracked Earth Studios. Terrain is for 25 - 35 mm scaled games and easily brings a fantasy game to life.

Dawn gives a quick glimpse of Cracked Earth Terrain that is going to Kickstarter soon. We will be speaking with the creators soon.

Day 2 Adepticon is up and running. They just opened the doors and the line is starting to move. Let's see what's up inside!

What a difference a day makes! The entries for the Crystal Brush competition began arriving yesterday and overnight it appears the case has filled- by Magic? By talent? Or perhaps both!

Teams are hard at work setting up what is sure to be a stunning spectacle in gaming- A Fist Full Of Seamen. Yes, that's the name of it, so in order to keep everyone on task and minds out of the gutter, we'll call it- The Pirate Game! Gianna and I have time reserved with the crew tomorrow to chat and video after it's set up completely. But until then, here's a few pics to tide you over...

This is the first year for Adepticon at it's new location in Schaumburg- and what a wonderful upgrade! Plenty more room for gaming and vendors, more elbow room equals an even better convention experience for all involved. While talking to Hank, the convention coordinator, he informed us that the move to this space really allowed for expanding the tournament capacities. The Warhammer crowd has always been the biggest draw, and it continues to have a solid presence this year- but interstingly, not a bigger one. Other games like Malifaux, have grown in leaps and bounds, which will only continue to make the convention better each year. Here is some of the space that the new venue offers.

Whether it's Flames of War, Bolt Action or Saga- there's plenty of historical gaming for anyone's taste- and on some lovely tables too.

The beautiful, labors of love continue to fill the cases for the coveted Crystal Brush.

There's plenty of Fantasy Flight goodness going on today. X wing tournaments as well as demos of Armada and Imperial Assault.

Just registered for the Pirate Game tomorrow!

A battle to the death is underway in a fantastic colloseum by Baddogz Engineering. Blood and money will spill on this table as the game heats up.

Look at this massive and beautifully created Warhammer history! Yes, it's behind glass, so the pictures don't quite do it justice. I'll say it again, WOW.

Though Knights aren't there themselves, an enthusiastic fan set up a demo table to offer gamers an opportunity to try out the Batman Miniatures game. It was a big hit and there's plenty of interest in the fan favorite.

As the day passed, the entries just kept coming- and each more impressive than the one before. As much fun as it is to look upon the entries with admiration and appreciation (ok and a little jealousy) the conversations in front of the case were just as wonderful. Many of the proud participants were happy to chat about their work and offer some of their secrets- which paints, which brushes, etc.

Dawn gives you a tour into one of the most coveted items at Adepticon each year. This years' swag bag is the most impressive yet! Watch and be prepared to be amazed.

Yes, I actually got to say it- "I'm Batman." I got to play a demo of Batman this am and I'm hooked! I love the mechanics of the game. They are clear and easy to follow. Truly the only learning curve is being well versed on the individual abilities of the characters- and that's totally fixable by a quick read of rules and homework on your models. I will definitely be picking these up!
