Acolyte Miniatures Cast Up The Final Moments Of The Defeated In 72mm
March 11, 2015 by brennon
The production cast for Acolyte Miniatures' The Defeated have come through and they're looking impressive. If you're wanting a 72mm scale project to get stuck into then this range from them could be perfect for it especially since they're doing so many different pieces!
They seem to have captured the serene moment where she realises that it's all over for her on the battlefield and she has become resigned to her lot in life. The textures on the fur look like they will take to highlighting and shading nicely and the way they've modeled the tossed and wind-lashed hair is great too.
Above is the full range of components that you'll be getting (apart from the scenic snow base) including the missing arm from the images at the top of the page. I think it would be fitting to put a bit of blood splatter over that and on the pure snowy white ground to show that she managed to take down a few more enemies before she met her end.
The original concept artwork for this piece also came with a selection of arrows that had bought her down and I assume you'll be getting those too although they are probably very delicate components!

I have every intension of trying to track this mini down, it is so right for the look of resignation, that finality, not of peace but of the awfulness of failure. She is resigned to her loss and seems to be at one with it, but such a piece asks much more, her loss to others, family and or love. It is at one time a model that the designer/sculptor/castor have gat everything correct. It is again a model that shows the ultimate cost, choosing a female form gives it much more depth. Yes please more on such works of… Read more »
