Warlord Games Brings Us A Plastic Tiger Zug For Bolt Action
March 8, 2015 by stvitusdancern
Warlord Games and Italeri are bringing in the heavies with a Tiger Zug (Platoon: German). In this box set you get mid to late war Tigers with Zimmerit anti-tank paste. If you so desire you can make one of the tanks tank number 007, the famous Tiger commanded by SS-Hauptsturmführer Michael Wittmann.
So for those of you looking to get into Tank War for Bolt Action and are playing the Germans this might be the set for you. These are all plastic sets and are really nice kits to assemble.
Just remember that Tigers are pretty expensive points wise in a game, so make sure you can assemble a list that complements them nicely, as I unfortunately discovered at my last Bolt Action tournament. This set will be available in mid March you can pre-order now.
Are you looking for some heavies for your Bolt Action Force?

Holly cats !!!! X3 tigers
Whoah! How many points in that box? :o)
Maxed out with Wittmann 1467
… aka 7 Shermans. I’d still back the Jerries in that fight thugh
Even with Brad Pitt as a crew commander “war daddy?”
That changes things! He would cost about 1000pts, and have a special rule whereby all enemy units must charge out of cover and run around in circles in-front of the tank’s machine guns.
Magic! And SS no less!
It’s all about sitting on your tiger like a boss
Or saying: “My gun is bigger than yours”
And penetrating the right target 🙂 .
@gianna sounds like there’s a story to tell
Not much of a story other than I brought a Tiger to the 1000 point tournament and got my butt handed to me by numerical attrition. I had less than half the amount of troops than my opponents and they just wore me down. Bad dice rolling didn’t help either.
I’m not surprised you really need a good all round workhorse in a 1000pt list especially at a tournament. hopefully you still had fun causing Tiger terror on the tabletop.
It would be nice to have some stowage or other ways of giving each Tiger a little personality of its own (Wittman perched on the turret all the time would be a little ridiculous – I would magnetise him).
Lots of bins and Tiger-specific goodies out there in brass and/or plastic to personalize them. Would be a lot of fun!
Those are very nice.
Funny enough if my old school german don’t fail me it is a “Tiger Train”, I imagine a lot of allied troops would wish for it to pass them by.
Well “Zug” in german military slang is “Platoon”. But yeah in a civilian meaning, a ” Zug” is mostly a railroad train. Btw in games, a “Zug” is referred to as a “turn” 😉 there are other meanings, but I’d like to end the little german lesson 😀
The kit is rather nice and easy to build – I preordered one and built it last week. Not sure I need another 3 🙂
That looks like a great kit; I think they’ll be my reward if I manage to finish up the BA painting challenge I’m in…would love to drop 3-4 Tigers on a Tank Wars tabletop!
Wow I want one…….or three
Good grief. I feel myself edging toward building a few WWII combat teams. Resistance… failing… must… hold… out.
tank 131 & 007 in the one unit what more do you want.
a tactical thermo-nuclear device to knock them out?
It’s the only way to be sure!
OMG OMG OMG !!!! I peed a little :D:D:D
