New Crossbowmen Cover Spearmen As They Advance From Curteys
March 6, 2015 by brennon
More Spearmen & Crossbowmen for your Western European Medieval armies have popped up from Curteys Miniatures. These soldiers would be great for a Crusading army or even one that's sitting at home minding the castle...
Both the Spearmen & Crossbowmen are wearing aketon-gamebson with nasal bar and skull cap helmets on to protect their noggins. Effectively this acts to give your force some unity if you were going to field them on the battlefield.
What I think could be most interesting is using the natural lines on the armour to paint them up with some of the half and half colour designs that you see in the Medieval period. Always good to have some browns, greens and darker tones but a splash of colour might work too.
What do you think of the miniatures?

Those are rather good.
I like ’em.
Very nice… but they’re going up against Perry plastics. Hard to compete, although these might look good sprinkled amongst them.
I like them…With the added bonus you dont have to build them . I would quite happily pay the extra not to have to glue lots of bits together
Look a bit chunky compared to Perry’s model, but perfect for a wee Lion Rampant army.
Crossbows the Devils invention
These are pretty great.
