New Bolt Action Compendium Coming Soon For 3rd Edition

Warlord Games announced that they will be releasing a new Compendium for Bolt Action 3rd Edition. This brings a whole host of ideas, themes and more from community-submitted articles and brings them all into one place for the new edition of the 28mm World War II wargame.

Some of these articles have previously appeared on the Warlord Games website but others are taken from guest authors who have insight into particular theatres and moments from World War II including a lot of lesser-known engagements. All of the additions to this book have been given a 3rd Edition makeover with new miniature photography and artwork throughout plus plenty of maps.

Polish Preview // Bolt Action

The majority of the book is a collection of scenarios, unit profiles, special rules and historical background that can be used to change up your games of Bolt Action and focus in more on some of the Minor Nations not generally covered by the main Bolt Action books. That could mean playing as the Chindits in the Burmese jungle or battling against the occupying Germans in Greece, France or Poland.

This could be a great way for you to expand your collection and start looking further afield than the rank and file of the US, British and German armies for example. This book hasn't been designed for "competitive" gaming so the themes, campaigns and such within are more useful for those looking to recreate historically accurate campaigns and more casual games. Maybe some of the ideas could be used for long weekend gaming sessions at the club though.

If you have a flashpoint from World War II that you're not sure has had the attention it deserves, maybe submit your thoughts and they could pop up in a future compendium.

Operation Rösselsprung Special Figure // Bolt Action

This figure represents a German paratrooper who is taking the fight to Tito's partisans in Yugoslavia according to Warlord Games so a natural fit for what the Compendium is all about. Pre-orders will be available soon ahead of a launch date of 15th February 2025.
