New Terrain For Gale Force Nine & Thunderhead’s HexTech Range!
January 8, 2025 by brennon
Gale Force Nine and Thunderhead Studio are working on some brand-new HexTech Terrain that will be coming as part of Wave 9 (yes, there has already been a lot of terrain!). If you want some nice 6-10mm terrain for your epic Sci-Fi battles you'll be able to expand it significantly soon.
HexTech Fortress Walls // Gale Force Nine
There are four sets in the upcoming wave starting with a couple of wall options for those building defensive positions on the tabletop. You can get the Trinity City Fortress Walls for example which are your classic defences, spit into twenty-four pre-painted wall sections. Add in the hefty gates and you've got a seriously good place to hold out against your enemies.
If you want to get a little fancier, you can also pick up the HexTech Energy Walls which take the wall sections and add five acrylic energy walls which just slot into the pre-painted sections.

I think these look super cool and a great way to sell the Sci-Fi theme. The added detail of the hex patterns on the acrylic wall segments looks great and the way they are designed makes it seem like they are flickering/shimmering.
Those walls above might be protecting important portions of Trinity City where these Highway Exits & Tunnels then come in.

These could simply be ways for the traffic to get around or they could lead into underground bunkers where the military operates from. You could make good use of these as spawn points for reinforcements or perhaps enemies that have found their way into the city!
The last of the sets takes things in a slightly different direction and could be used alongside the Atlean Steppes range that Thunderhead and Gale Force Nine have been working on.
HexTech Rivers & Lakes // Gale Force Nine
These Rivers & Lakes will be great for breaking up the battlefield and providing you with points of interest and tactical decisions to make. If the mech you've been piloting got a bit hot you could always take it for a dip in one of those lakes!
All of the HexTech terrain that you see as part of the Gale Force Nine range comes pre-painted and ready to use out of the box. If you're interested in the range but want to go down the route of 3D Printing, you can explore the entire digital library from Thunderhead Studio HERE.

Watch out for this next range of HexTech terrain joining the collection in the next few months. You can currently get your hands on a lot of the range right now from different retailers so get yourself set up for games of BattleTech, Dropzone Commander and more.
Will you be picking up some of these new terrain sets?
