Firelock Games and Edgar Pabon have created a free supplement for you to download for use with their 28mm Historical wargame, Blood & Steel. Blood & Steel gives you rules for playing out Victorian Age Combat on the tabletop and the new Into The Fireline download allows you to link those battles together with campaign rules.

The aim of Into The Fireline is to allow you to play games where the outcome matters. A short series of linked games can be played out with a definitive winner by the end of it. You can use this with a pair of wargamers or more playing as part of two teams if you prefer.

Into The Fireline makes use of a series of rounds being played out using a modified push-pull format. If you win a game then you take a more offensive role in the next game whereas if you lose, you take on a more defensive role. This should make for some interesting storytelling as you see the slow grind play out between different factions battling it out for control in the likes of the American Civil War or with the British and the Zulus.
