Games Workshop has been previewing more character miniatures coming to Warhammer: The Old World to support the revival of "Fantasy Battle" on the tabletop. Both the forces of Chaos and the Empire Of Man can call on heavily armoured heroes to lead the way.

Frydaal The Chainmaker - Warhammer The Old World

Frydaal The Chainmaker // Warhammer: The Old World

Frydaal The Chainmaker is a mighty warrior from across the sea, spreading bloodthirsty mayhem wherever she goes. She has walked the Shadowlands and is now on her Path To Glory, seeking to be elevated in the eyes of the gods and gifted more power. She delights in letting survivors flee from those towns and villages that she despoils so they can spread her legend.

She now leads an army of marauders down the coast, crushing rival Norscan chieftains and turning her fleet into one that now threatens the lands of the Empire. Her weapon of choice is Storm's Fury which can crush armour and bone with a single blow. She has special rules for buffing Marauders and can be included in the Wolves of the Sea Army of Infamy. A cool replacement for the classic Wulfrik The Wanderer?

Hans von Löwenhacke

As well as the mighty Frydaal, you can soon get your hands on a new character for the Empire Of Man. Here we have the distinguished Hans von Löwenhacke of Talabecland.

General Hans von Lowenhacke - Warhammer The Old World

General Hans von Lowenhacke // Warhammer: The Old World

Hans made a name for himself battling Goblins, fighting his way through the army to slay their Warboss and cut the head from the snake. He also fought in Middenland, commanding a rearguard that stopped a Beastman ambush and gave others time to retreat. He is now fighting alongside the armies of Nuln as part of an alliance between them and Talabecland against Reikland. Within the ranks of Nuln's soldiers, he takes on the role of an inspiring Mercenary Commander.

He gives a buff to mercenaries within your army and his hold on strategic planning allows you to get the drop on your enemy during the first turn, modifying the roll for going first by plus or minus one. Whilst he can fight in any army, he can also head back to his native land of Nuln and make a good showing as part of their Army Of Infamy.

Will you be picking up either of these new characters in Forge World resin?
