You can now pre-order a new set of miniatures from Para Bellum Games for use in their 35mm Fantasy wargame, Conquest: The Last Argument Of Kings and the skirmish game, First Blood. The Steel Chosen are on the warpath, ready to raid in the name of their Jarls.

Steel Chosen - Conquest

Steel Chosen // Conquest

This new plastic set from Para Bellum allows you to make the twin-weapon-wielding Steel Chosen in your games. Charging into battle with axe and sword, they are an invaluable bodyguard for your Jarl and Konungyr. I think the poses on these new warriors are great, lunging forward with purpose, weapons ready to cut someone down. The set also has components for making a Command element of your Steel Chosen.

The Steel Chosen are a versatile tool and are exceptionally good at taking apart the enemy's defences. Equally, they share the skills and aspects of their leader and act as an extension of that character's combat ability, making them a great way for you to get the best out of this combination.

As well as the Steel Chosen, there is another excellent way to smash your opponents aside and break battlelines. The Goltr Beastpack speaks to the Norse influence behind the Nords (if it wasn't obvious enough). Prepare the boars!

Goltr Beastpack - Conquest

Goltr Beastpack // Conquest

Whilst many of Loki's creations are monstrous and terrible, some of them are of use to the Nords. The Goltr are animals that can survive in the wilds of Manheim and can even be domesticated. They can also be eaten and their leather is great for armour. Some can also be trained as beasts of war, charging into the enemy with a murderous temperament and fierce horns acting as their weapons of choice.

On the tabletop, the Goltr Beastpack charge ahead of the main force and disrupts the enemy. As the scattered formations try to put themselves back together, the rest of your force can rush in and finish them off.

What do you make of the brand new Nords pre-orders for Conquest?
