Utrinque Paratus
Well someone's come up with a real nightmare
Ok not really a nightmare, but it began following a discussion over a pint in a pub in Cushendall. This involved @buggeroff and @brucelea
The idea was to do a set of second world war skirmish games over a weekend. This then turned very quickly into doing around Market Garden, after all it nearly worked. So will this be a set of games too far.
Rules
Well there are so many rules options out there for the second world war, but we decided on using Chain of Command, why well we have the rules and like them and the focus will be on infantry rather than tanks or artillery. Plus CoC has a better reflection of Platoon level rules than any other game we have played.
Scale
Whilst I would quite happily be would have gone for 15mm it was decided that 28mm was the scale we were going to go for as we have others we wanted to come along and so in theory it means some people will already have figures ready to go. Myself, not really the only 28mm force I have is a British North African army. So I would be starting from the ground up.
Choosing a force
Well, in most of my second world war gaming I have gone for a British Force, why well it’s something I can relate to, as growing up I was lucky enough to talk to relatives who fought in the war, sadly they have all past now. Anyway I did consider doing the German’s this time but well I was drawn back to the British so I said I would work on a force representing the 1st British Airborne, who dropped in around Arnhem.
