Diving deep into a divine image
So there isn’t an icon I can directly pull for Blessed Paul of Wallachia but I think I can fake it with enough research and spending a little money. I’ve found An Iconographers Handbook – The Stroganov Tradition and Icon as Communion as references to look at and get a strong sense of how to compose the imagery.
I remind myself that I'm only doing this to myself The downside is that I also have stepped into the matter of needing to add in Church Slavonic according to the image. This is where I’ve had to brush up on my Russian, work back from Serbian what I could understand and to figure out the writing and proper labels for who was important from Greek. My head hurts.
