Warcradle Studios has previewed the upcoming Union forces coming to the 10mm battlefields of Armoured Clash in November! A brand new Battlegroup Starter Set is on the way alongside an Introductory Set for those wanting to test the waters of this ace wargame.
Union Faction Battlegroup Starter Set // Armoured Clash
Learn How To Play Armoured Clash
The Union Faction Battlegroup Starter Set comes packed with everything you need to start playing the Union and Armoured Clash. At the heart of the set are the Federal Troopers who will act as your rank and file in your games, marching forth to secure objectives.
Federal Trooper Platoon // Armoured Clash
They can be armed with a variety of special weapons meaning that they can deal with different threats, be they infantry or vehicles. When you need to bring the veterans in, the Union can also call on the Pacifier Heavy Infantry Platoon who are your battle-hardened veterans clad in heavy armour.

Charging "cavalry" also makes a statement as part of the Union forces. You have the classic Iron Horse Cavalry but also the Blazers who are the heavy-duty side of the cavalry offering for the Union in your games.
Blazer Heavy Cavalry // Armoured Clash
They are likely to charge forward under covering fire from the likes of the Hotchkiss Revolving Cannon which will be blasting craters in the battlefield and sending enemy troops scattering to the winds!

Last but not least, it wouldn't be the Union without something train-related and that's where the Lakota Heavy Rail comes in. Now that is a proper land train and I can sense that somewhere Lloyd is sweating with anticipation.
Lakota Heavy Rail // Armoured Clash
This is by no means all of the contents of the new Battlegroup Starter Set. There are more miniatures for the Union army but also Rules & Gubbins...

...and also some of the Dystopian Industrial Modular Terrain Set so you can build a battlefield for the Union to fight over. All-in-all, a good one-stop-shop for those wanting a new army for Armoured Clash and a good starting point for a collection too.

Union Introductory Set // Armoured Clash
This gives you a snapshot of the Union forces available to you in Armoured Clash alongside Quickstart Rules so that you can begin playing with a friend and enjoying smaller "skirmishes" with your 10mm miniatures. This set contains...

So, a decent set of miniatures that you can use to begin playing your games of Armoured Clash without going all-in as mentioned above. You and a friend could each get an Introductory Set and try out Armoured Clash to see if it's for you. It also gives you a good base to expand from as anything you add in the future will always be useful in bulking out armies for larger games.
These miniatures will be coming in November so watch this space!

Tiny bluecoats!
The infantry is very well sculpted and produced for 10mm.
I like the train and the buildings.
Confederates have cooler uniforms.
Yes they do…
Nope.
You seem to get loads and loads of stuff in these expansion sets, the only thing this game doesn’t seem to include is fun.
Yeah, I just don’t seem to feel any buzz over it. Great toys, but not fun toys.
Maybe the problem is dystopian wars as a setting. It’s a bit like malifaux. Neither of them is really interesting.
I have a similar problem with infinity. The minis look fine, but the setting is bland and the game doesn’t look particularly interesting.
Wayland games must invest a lot of money in these games but outside of ontabletop I have never seen anyone showing any interest in the game let alone playing it any locally.
The models are pretty unqiue to the game setting nto sure what else you could use them for.
It is good that companies are willing to support smaller games but curious how fiscally they are able to. Maybe it is far more popular that we believe ?
WWX is a lot of fun. The cards add a random element that’s cool, but cowboys and aliens is not for everyone.
A lot of us who left GW games (Which are very boring to play) when they went woke will be moving in this and TC’s direction once the Kickstarter launches. The Lore is the actual draw IMHO so when GW crapped all over 40K with Femstodes and adding pronouns in the novels, lots of people walked away.
cool
You had me in that first paragraph.
Who?
Sigh….Those WOKERATI ruining made up things since 2020.
@rickabod41 indeed… the sadness of the culture war, is that it isn’t real, except to people stuck in some archaic personal dungeon.
Live. Let live. Love is love. Pick your pronoun. Be yourself.
Not terribly hard tenets to get along in life and be the best person you can be, right?
Hearts and minds.
What this dude said.
Although the last person who said that sort of thing got nailed to a tree. On the plus side they then named a religion after him, although that seems to have be co-opted who reckon he was only talking about people who look and act like them.
Ironic really seeing as how he was from the middle east.
anyway, back to looking at little plastic men (and or women, and everything inbetween).
I would love to try and start a community for this if I could win a set, but I won’t buy in to try and do so as I’ve been burned by that before with other games.
Waiting for Imperium, but I may need to pick these guy’s up. Maybe I’ll paint them Grey…
I am very very happy to come home and read this, thank you
Dystopian Wars as a whole game (land, sea and air) was very popular during the ‘Spartan Games’ era. All the clubs were playing it all over mainland Europe, especially the Sea and air combat version. When Spartan went down, so did most of the enthusiasm and good will.
P.S. The Covenant of Antartica is the true Covenant!
Night runner, I think the thing with the “Spartan Era” was all 3 were compatible – we heavily played Armoured Clash with the Air Assets (who wouldn’t want flying airfields).
Now, not so much ….. though I do noted the fleets have Landing Ships in some of them, and “Tiny Tokens” for land forces (still miss my ranks of EotBS (now Empire) ball “tiny” Tanks)
True. Ahhhh tiny tokens…the good old days!
I find it very odd that they are announcing the box but only showing 5 out of 13 of the actual units that are in it? Usually the blog announcements from WC are the place to see all the detail of the contents, why show less than half?
The link to the introductory box shows more units, but it still doesn’t show the tanks which is disappointing.
My empire battleforce turned up today. Just wanted to say thank you 👍
