Seb Games is doing great work looking to bring different forgotten games back to the tabletop. One such game is the Sci-Fi wargame Urban War which will be getting a new edition release shortly alongside a new set to get you started.

Urban War Strike Team Action - Seb Games

Urban War: Strike Team Action // Seb Games

The new edition is going to be coming very soon and a Beta version of the campaign rules is already available right now for you to try out. According to Seb Games, ninety per cent of the rules are the same as the first edition and all miniatures will remain as part of the game. The main focus has been on tweaking the rules here and there to smooth out the game experience and add clarity to certain rules.

As mentioned above, the main thrust of the new edition is those campaign rules mentioned above which will allow you to fight over Iskandria. If you like the sound of that, a new Gamebox would be a good starting point and one of those is on the way as well.

Strike Team Action Starter Set - Urban War

Strike Team Action Starter Set // Urban War

This set won't come with metal miniatures and instead will feature SioCast miniatures to get you started. Inside the set, you're going to get...

  • 4 Junkers Legionaries
  • 1 Junkers Legionary Lancer
  • 4 Viridian Colonial Marines
  • 1 Viridian Colonial Marine with HGR
  • Two brand new named characters. One for each faction. More details about those two will follow soon!
  • Dice
  • Softcover Urban War 3ed rulebook
  • Terrain sheets
  • A3 Map of Iskandria
  • Counter sheets

...so everything that you need for playing as the Junkers and the Viridians and maybe attempting a bit of a campaign yourself. The contents of the box may tweak a little bit once the set goes into production but I'd say you've got most of the contents nailed down there.

From there, you just need to get yourself some metal miniatures later on down the line and your Urban War journey has begun! Did you miss out on Urban War first time around and could this draw you back into the game?
