Warp Miniatures are embracing the spooky season of Halloween with a new Two-Player Starter Set and a couple of individual Starter Sets for those who are dead and loving it. These sets will give you a great opportunity to dive into the 32mm Fantasy realm of ArcWorlde!

Duel Of The Dead Two Player Starter Set - ArcWorlde

Duel Of The Dead Two Player Starter Set // ArcWorlde

The first of the releases is the awesome new Duel Of The Dead Two-Player Starter Set which comes with two full warbands for use in ArcWorlde and everything else you need to play. Here's some background on the set...

"In the mist-wreathed lands to the east of the Mildaark Forest, the Vampires rule. Their dark castles and lofty mansions loom menacingly over the lands of Vauhaemia, but something stirs in the long-forgotten tombs beneath it. The Ancient Dead awaken to find impostors upon their ancestral homes and vow to reclaim their stolen land from the new lords of Vauhaemia. Who will triumph in the Duel of the Dead?"

This set comes with all of the awesome resin (or metal) miniatures you've come to expect from Warp including the Vampires and the Ancient Dead. They are, as you might have guessed, warring over who deserves to rule this ancestral land! You also get the themed dice and the campaign booklet whilst the rules for ArcWorlde are available online for free. It's a fun and inventive system which makes great use of collaborative storytelling at the tabletop.

Both the Vampires and the Ancient Dead also come as two individual Starter Sets so if you just want one set of miniatures, they've got that covered as well.

Vampire Starter Warband - ArcWorlde

The Vampire set comes with two bloodsucking Vampires, one Manservant and then three Crypt Bats. Again, they are all sculpted in the whimsical style that people have come to know and love from Warp and stand out from a lot of other miniatures on the market.

My favourite of the sets however is for the Ancient Dead.

As a fan of Middle-earth, these fellows speak to me! I just need an ancient sword in hand to command them to do my bidding. I'm sure that won't go wrong at all. The set comes with the Grave Lord himself alongside five Skelts wreathed in balefire. The set is capped off by the Barrow Hound who will be hunting down the targets of the Grave Lord.

Extra Ancient Antics

As well as the Starter Warbands and the Starter Set, you can also get your hands on some extra miniatures to expand your warbands and take them to the next level. Vlod The Disemboweler is one such character!

Moving to the realm of Hammer Horror, the Vampires can also get their hands on Notferatu who will be ferreting around in the dark rather than taking a front-facing role on the battlefield.

Notferatu // ArcWorlde

Another wonderful miniature filled with character and well worth adding to your collection. I appreciate the more cartoony features of the miniatures from Warp as they are nice and easy to paint for people like me who are all fingers and thumbs. Exaggerated details and clearly defined elements of the miniature make a big difference.

Last but not least, we have the awesome Werewolf, snarling and getting ready to swipe and an oncoming foe.

Very nicely animated as a sculpt and a great way for you to supplement your faction with something other than bats! Go super hard-hitting with the Vampires AND this snarling shapechanger!

For the Ancient Dead, you have a similar setup of three additional sets starting with the towering Bone Goliath.

Bone Goliath - ArcWorlde

Bone Goliath // ArcWorlde

This fellow is an amalgamation of many different fallen heroes in one gargantuan form, ready to crush the foes of the Grave Lord and drive them from their lands. I really like the Celtic elements worked into the miniature to give that properly ancient and forgotten feel.

Keeping with that folklore feel, we also have the imposing Bog Magus.

Bog Magus // ArcWorlde

Looking over the sacred bogs of their ancient peoples, the Bog Magus are there to make sure that the spirits rest easy and when needed, call on them to fight! It's a neat idea that some fresh-faced maiden was thrown into the bog hundreds of years ago and now she is pissed with the locals!

Last but not least, we have the Tomb Guardians who will give your undead some clout.

They were probably bodyguards and retainers in life and they have maintained that role in death. They now watch over the tombs of the long dead and will cleave the head from any who dares to set foot on ancient soil!

It should be reiterated that all of these miniatures come in either resin or metal so you've got plenty of choice!

Will you be getting your hands on some of these new Undead miniatures from Warp this month?
