Blood Rage Smashing Down & Raiding Stretch Goals!
March 3, 2015 by brennon
Blood Rage from Guillotine Games and Studio McVey has been smashing down stretch goals in the wake of their Kickstarter going live yesterday evening. They've unlocked a whole bunch of extra stuff!
The game has you playing as one of four different clans looking to win their place in Valhalla alongside Odin by raiding and pillaging your way into his good graces. Each turn you'll be drafting cards to make up your hand then going out to battle and using these cards to your advantage to claim victory.
The God Cards represent different types of strategy with Thor being all about glory in battle while Loki for example rewards you for losing battles and then punishes the winners for their victory. You'll have to take time to study what kind of cards your enemies are using to learn their strategies.
As you can see they have unlocked practically all of the different stretch goals with only the alternative Bear Clan sculpts still to go when it comes to the basic warriors. I love the additional monsters too and the addition of the epic Dwarf and Elf characters makes for some nice extra options when bringing monsters to the field to fight for you.
The game looks really fun and you can see how it all works out in a demo game above from Jogando Offline. These guys are really fun to watch.
What do you think so far?

I am liking what I see.
Wow. Love the top mini’s. Some of the stretch goal figures look a bit iffy, though.
The dwarf is UGLY. :/ Probably more “historically correct” but ugly nonetheless.
You’re right. In terms of mythology the dwarf, in the way it is portrayed, is likely closer to ‘reality.’ Symbolically, they are underdeveloped humans, both mentally and physically. Doesn’t mean I want to own one lol.
Those are some gorgeous miniatures. Kickstarter has been, er, kicking me in the wallet lately.
Okay I have to join it is Vikings after all
And now there is a tie in with Conan – from update 101: For those of you who are not aware, our friends from Guillotine Games and Studio McVey have a Kickstarter campaign going on right now for their new Viking board game Blood Rage! Designed by Eric Lang, with art by Adrian Smith, who did much of the art for Conan and published by CMON. http://cmon.co/bloodrage We’re very excited about the fact that there’s so much potential crossover between Conan and Blood Rage, not only in terms of the art style and theme, but the figures are also in… Read more »
While I like the theme of the minis and they look well sculpted, with lots of detail, the poses are just too boring.
