Issue 16 // SBG Magazine

If you've not launched yourself into SBG Magazine before, it's a dedicated fanzine by avid fans of Middle-earth and the Games Workshop game. They have been running for a fair few years now and a lot of their issues are available for you to download digitally from their website HERE. Issue 16 Spread #1 - SBG Magazine

Samwise Gamgee Article // SBG Magazine

The new issue focuses on the tale of Frodo and Sam as they head to Osgiliath, find themselves caught by Faramir's Rangers and end up having to dash through the streets of Osgiliath. As well as a fantastic battle report packed with gorgeous miniature photography, there are also plenty of awesome articles by contributors including the one above talking about why Samwise is such an awesome character.

The battle itself is a sight to behold and it is all written in the classic White Dwarf style of old where you get fun interjections from the players and plenty of great in-depth detail on what's happening from turn to turn. Did I mentioned the great photography?

Issue 16 Spread #4 - SBG Magazine

Battle Report // SBG Magazine

I mean look at that for a battle! You'll also find plenty of hobby goodness in the new issue as well including a breakdown of how all of that terrain was painted and how the board was brought to life.

Issue 16 Spread #3 - SBG Magazine

Painting Osgiliath // SBG Magazine

It's neat seeing someone approach a slightly different take on doing the terrain for Osgiliath. The overgrown look is fantastic and I think the darker stone works well to match the idea of the ruined city being abandoned by the Gondorians for an age.

Issue 16 Spread #2 - SBG Magazine

Battle Of Osgiliath // SBG Magazine

As well as all of the Osgiliath loveliness, there are some great articles on getting stuck into the game in different ways including working through your backlog of the "forgotten" miniatures in your collection and then taking them on a tournament journey.

You can always tell that the team behind SBG Magazine has put a lot of love and care into each issue and they are great reads that will inspire you to dive deeper into your Middle-earth hobby. As you might have guessed, I quite enjoy diving in!

Will you be picking up the latest issue of SBG Magazine?
