Deadzone Pathfinders Lead The Way For Mantic This March
March 2, 2015 by brennon
Deadzone is going to be back on Kickstarter this month from Mantic Games with their Infestation fundraiser and to get you prepared for it the Pathfinders for the Corporation have paved the way to victory. See what you think of these renders for them...
The set will be in hard plastic and come on sprues with more options for heads and such to customise the look of your troopers. I'm really liking the mix of both hard Sci-Fi and that sleeker edge when it comes to the design of the Corporation from Mantic and I think they're onto a winner. I know a lot of people who are picking up the miniatures for the Enforcers simply because of the look!
So what about the Pathfinders themselves?
"Even amongst the ranks of the Enforcers, the Pathfinders are an elite and highly specialised group. Recruited from those who exhibit the highest standards of initiative, independent thinking and tactical intuition, it is testament to how grueling the training program for these soldiers is that even having advanced into the ranks of the Enforcers, less than half of the candidates will be successful."
To get you in the mood there is going to be a big Deadzone Week on the Mantic website come March 16th and they have also put up the short story 'The Hunt' online for you to read and absorb like the big fluff demons we are!
See what you think!

Yup. They got me!
Very nice, although the Mohawk is a bit too kitschy for my tastes… unless he’s shooting beer cans off the fence behind his trailer. But then again, Mantic always gives you a lot of head alternatives, so probably not an issue.
Those look really good.
Oooh, great. The Wild West Exodus AND the Deadzone kickstarters in the same month. Plus Adepticon. Thank goodness for tax refunds.
Excellent stuff. Seems that Mantic are going from strength to strength, will definately back a new Deadzone Kickstarter!
I will be risking the wrath of the long haired general for this, after already jumping on DBX, Dungeon saga and KoW2. But one can’t help but wonder if Ronnie is trying to do too much, Mantic has issues with Mars attacks and dreadball fulfilment, lots of unhappy comments on the Mantic blog! There have been issues with the new pledge manager, and the post KS survey for KoW is yet to launch. I am a Mantic system convert and am pleased to support the smaller business, if not for Ronnie’s mahusive enthusiasm alone. But I think maybe they need… Read more »
Sums up my view, unfortunately original Deadzone KS and other customer service/quality issues means I cannot justify supporting them on kick starter. Look like nice sculpts though and hard plastics seem to be delivering better quality
@bonesbs – I completely agree with you, and another thing – If he would wait he could just start warpath kickstarter next year ( possibly this is what will happen) but maybe they have artists that just sit and do nothing because all rendering/ sculpting is done ? and I am a bit fed up with kickstarters and want to save up for salute. I probably will pledge minimal pledge just to jet some models but not a lot, and couple of sprue of that new terrain Ronnie was talking about.
Well Warpath notwithstanding, Deadzone needs some attention still. It’s got some first edition inconsistencies, which while the game is still playable it leaves balance well off. Rebs being painfully weak for one and close combat being too deadly compared to shooting for another. Hopefully now we’ve had six months without releases for it, that’s been sufficient time to audit the bugbears and iron them out. On Kickstarters in general, I think Ronnie has heavily implied they’re going to do less of them this year. Think there’s only this and Warpath on the cards right now. As for harsh Kickstarter comments… Read more »
After seeing a few other renders at the Open Day and all the awesome new terrain pieces I can’t wait to get in on this Kickstarter!
good to see some female figures actually in armour, not just a tin foil bikini
I just assembled some of my plastic Enforcers last night. Having seen the quality, I am very pleased and am looking forward to these as it looks like they have finally got the issues with their hard plastics sorted out now.
Oh for God’s sake… I have no more room for stuff!
