Lucky break regarding the pieces of wood in the middle. Once all the staples through the hardboard were removed I discovered that they had not glued the bits of wood in… so they slide out. Which means I can slide them back in again for storage.
Trimmed the icy cobbles mat fit and using up some left over felt from an old project for the ends of the table. Imagine straighter lines and everything held in place securely.
