Pre-Order Oathmark’s New 28mm Fantasy Orc Heavy Infantry
August 20, 2024 by brennon
North Star Military Figures are currently taking pre-orders for the new 28mm Fantasy Orc Heavy Infantry for use in Osprey Games' Oathmark: Battles Of The Lost Age. There is a brand new plastic set alongside some metal figures to use as heroes (or villains).
Orc Heavy Infantry // Oathmark
This plastic set comes with thirty Orc Heavy Infantry which can be built with two-handed weapons or hand weapons and shields. There are also options on the frames for building a standard bearer and officer to help lead your Orcs into battle. This means that you can build one large regiment or split things up and make lots of smaller units.
Orc Heavy Infantry Sprue // Oathmark
As with all of the plastic sprues from North Start for Oathmark, they can be mixed and matched so you could use these with other Goblins and Orcs or with Humans, Elves and Dwarves if you'd prefer. You could even mix these with kits from Stargrave and Frostgrave if you wanted to make them stretch further.
New Metal Orc Miniatures
As well as the plastic set, there are also a couple of new metal miniature sets for you to snap up and use to supplement your plastic miniatures. For example, you can get the King, Wizard and Drummer to use when choosing leaders for your armies.
Orc King, Wizard & Drummer // Oathmark
As well as that, you can also get a set of three Champions who come armed with a variety of different weapons. The fellow at the bottom is very Tolkienesque and it's something I still love about the Oathmark range as a whole. It's perfect for those wanting to recreate Middle-earth battles on a larger scale.
Orc Champions // Oathmark
You can also smash into your enemy with an Ogre. These brutish fellows can be used to fight for Orc armies but you can also slot them into Human armies as well.
Ogre // Oathmark
Maybe you could buck the trend and make this fellow the general of your army. He doesn't need to be relegated to just the big dumb brute. Maybe he crushed his former employer and decided that he was going to be the leader of a new mercenary company.
Classic Oathmark Miniatures
Another of the new sets available for this particular pre-order period is the old Oathmark Maquette Collection. When Oathmark was in its initial design stages, these miniatures were used to give an idea of how the various factions would look.
Oathmark Maquette Collection // Oathmark
All of these miniatures are 28mm scale and come in lead-free pewter metal. You get a Goblin, Human, Dwarf and Elf Champion to choose from. Maybe you could snap these up as a taster pack so you can work out which faction you want to go all-in on? They could even be used as Champions in your full armies later on down the line.
Are you going to be picking up these miniatures for your Oathmark armies?
"As with all of the plastic sprues from North Start for Oathmark, they can be mixed and matched..."
These all look excellent.
