Hey Ho
Let’s go
There are plans for a re do of hogs of war scheduled for end of 2024 – according to wiki anyway
I am onboard – would love to see that
With Ben talking about Conan and I know there’s been some rog supplements but I think it’s surprising there’s never been a Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser skirmish game
Unless it completely bypassed me of course
TSR did a board game back in the mid 70’s based on a warame Frtz Leiber and his pal played
@brennon Tip for using washes on terrain I got from Mel the terrain tutor: Wet the model first. It allows you to move the wash around and minimize splotching and patchiness.
Much appreciated – will help out with what I’m tinkering on!
Scott Kurtz – the strip was PvP.
Good shout!
Happy Sunday COGz an OTTers ?✨?
@dignity is playing C&C on the table ??
He’s making the building’s more authentic with some dodgy finishing work @avernos ???

Go blond an say it’s lion skin Ben ?
For armoured clash you should paint the buildings red brick so they stand out from other epic scale games and look more 19th century

Happy Sunday.
I got a few Redbox minis ages ago but so far they are unassembled and unpainted because they look so much smaller than the rest of my collection it seems like they won’t fit in.
I’m very much enjoying Ivan’s Five Parsecs (Leagues) system, especially Bug Hunt, I also love Forbidden Psalm for some quick grimdark fantasy play.
I’ve gone off McCollough’s systems (Frostgrave, Rangers etc), a little as those D20s really hate me.
Yeah they are a lot smaller than a lot of stuff out there – gorgeous though
> Five Parsecs (Leagues) system
Are you playing the Story Events? IIRC, It’s in the appendices, and says you should already have played a campaign first, but I actually find them less work than rolling up a random encounter!
> I’ve gone off McCollough’s systems (Frostgrave, Rangers etc), a little as those D20s really hate me.
Same ditto. Not a fan of the swinginess of the game. Would play it more if I didn’t spend hundreds of dollars on terrain and not have the terrain a scenario calls for. No proxies! 😛
love the show guy’s ?
I’d say that one of the reasons OSR has been such a success for RPG’s is because it ditches all the extra crap that has been added to D&D over the years. It is relatively easy to get into, because there isn’t a lot of complicated rules to remember and the DM is always right 😉 There was bound to be something equivalent for wargames, although IMHO the mentality of ‘just roll with it’ hasn’t quite hit home yet as a lot of simplification is often seen as a loss of granularity. I wonder if wargaming will go full circle… Read more »
I think that’s because of d6
I use the Napoleonic set from Wiley Games, with the Horror supplement to play an alternative Silver Bayonet game.
Well, Green Arrow is also a billionaire! If Bats pays for all the stuff, maybe Quinn pays for the electric bill? Who knows?
I know but it’s funnier to ignore that… I do love his one armed angry old man run in the dark knight falls books mind you
Happy Sunday….
Wiley Games has been my all time favorite wargame ruleset for years and I never can find anotherr that matches the simplicity and fun these rules provide. Also, the fact that one can mix and match periods/genre makes for interesting scenarii (Wild West zombie invasion/cowboys versus aliens/post apocalyptic survivors sword and sorcery, etc…). That is also where Zombicide minis come to another great use…(I suggest trying Zombicide Dead and Alive with Fistful of Lead and the Horror supplement).
