Face Apocalypse In Marvel: Crisis Protocol With New Minis & Terrain
July 31, 2024 by brennon
Atomic Mass Games recently previewed a whole host of new miniatures for Marvel: Crisis Protocol. The big focus was on Apocalypse and a brand new Ultimate Encounter for you to throw your X-Men (and more) into.
Apocalypse // Marvel Crisis Protocol
Leading the way, we have the set for Apocalypse which comes with the miniature for the deadly villain as well as two statues and a terrain dais. It's a solid version of the character that really captures the vibe of the villain from the comics and I'm sure that a lot of X-Men fans are going to be picking him up.
Apocalypse Miniature // Marvel: Crisis Protocol
The image above shows off Apocalypse in all his glory but as a note, you have to buy the terrain for the Ultimate Encounter separately. More on that later. I think this sets the scene for an awesomely cinematic clash on the tabletop and I can't wait to see what some people do when it comes to building tabletops for these clashes.
As well as the miniature for Apocalypse, there is also a set for the thematically appropriate Angel and Archangel that you can throw into your games.
Angel & Archangel // Marvel: Crisis Protocol
This set features two awesome takes on the character with Angel and then his future self, Archangel. Angels was one of the founding members of the X-Men but he eventually become brooding and introspective and took on the persona of Archangel. His feathered wings became metal and he featured new powers. All of this was mainly due to Apocalypse who names him the Horseman oOf Death.
Angel Miniature // Marvel: Crisis Protocol
Archangel // Marvel: Crisis Protocol
Both miniatures are included as part of the set and can be used quite handily with your Apocalypse scenarios when diving into Marvel: Crisis Protocol. You can, of course, use them in a myriad of other team-up ideas that you have in mind and play some fun what if? scenarios on the tabletop.
New Terrain Packs
As well as the miniatures for Apocalypse and Angel & Archangel, you can also get three sets of terrain for use in your games. You have the...
Shrine To En Sabah Nur // Marvel: Crisis Protocol
Dark Future Terrain Pack // Marvel: Crisis Protocol
Rejuvenation Chamber Ultimate Encounter // Marvel: Crisis Protocol
...all of these come with appropriate rules for including them in your scenarios. If you don't want them for something specific, they are also good as set dressing for your games to make them feel more "Marvel". They have come a long way from fighting on the streets of New York City.
All of these sets are available to pre-order right now with an aim to release them in October 2024.
Could you be tempted?
"They have come a long way from fighting on the streets of New York City..."
OOF DEATH!
Cue Jen Titus…
I don’t want to know how much all that terrain costs. Everything for marvel crisis is too expensive except for the starter set which sucks you into a cash eating vacuum.
probably around £265.
From my FDGS (preorders):
Shrine to En Sabah Nur – 55,99€
Dark Future Terrain Pack – 59,99€
Rejuvenation Chamber Ultimate Encounter – 99,99€
Total: 215,97€
The cost of my French Bulldog’s coffin and funeral services – 125,00€. Yeah, not buying them.
