Games Workshop are catching up on some of their other games now that the launch of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar has hit. The fighting in Ghur still continues in Warcry, their excellent Mortal Realms skirmish game, with pre-orders for Briar And Bone coming this weekend.

Warcry Briar And Bone - Warhammer Age Of Sigmar

Briar And Bone continues the fighting in the wild, living forests of Ghur and the Gnarlwood. The militaristic Teratic Cohort has been sent forth by Nagash to harvest the bones from the corpses that now litter the Gnarlwood. This particular band of Ossiarch Bone Reapers have at one time or another displeased Nagash and so have been reformed into lower lifeforms. Now they seek to redeem themselves by chasing down their targets.

Their task should be easy but they have now found themselves running into the tortured forms of the Twistweald. Parasitic plants have worked their way into the bodies of these Sylvaneth and they are simultaneously looking to cure themselves whilst also wiping out the taint from the Gnarlwood.

The Twistweald - Warcry

The set comes with some great twists on the classic Sylvaneth miniatures that we've seen in the range so far. As well as being useful in Warcry, they can also be used in Warhammer Age Of Sigmar if you'd like to go down the route of a particularly themed force.

The set also comes with a Ravening Gnarloak terrain piece that can swallow fighters whole and the rules for the new warbands. You will also get Fighter, Ability and Battleplan Cards to get you started.

Previous Warcry Releases

As well as the two new warbands, you can also pick up the two warbands from the last Warcry set. This means the Lumineth Realm-lords get the Ydrilan Riverblades, looking to cleanse the Gnarlwood and keep it from burning down.

They can be pitted against the flaming Pyregheists, tortured souls who are looking to burn the forest to the ground and everyone in it. It's a proper clash of elements with these two warbands.

The terrain piece from that set is also going to be available separately for those wanting to scoop it up for Warcry or just to use as Warhammer Age Of Sigmar terrain for bigger battles.

All of these sets will be available to scoop up from Games Workshop (and us!) this weekend. If you're looking to dive deeper into Warcry then you'll have some neat options to choose from. I really like the Twistweald as an idea and it's cool to see updated Dryad miniatures in the set.

Will you be checking out these Warcry pre-orders?
