The risk/reward strategy of bringing magic to the tabletop has benefits for the caster but it also means that if things go wrong, both they and their companions might suffer. It's hard to nail the feel of magic in a Fantasy wargame but it seems like Corvus Belli might have done it!

magic seems very easy to use, this game is getting better and better every day
I like the risk reward in casting spells.
I do have a question.
Is the sequence of the symbols of the hollow shield and hollow special at the same time or not? As that could mean that you get tinge and already have the effect of them with the hollow special or is the tinge that you collect for the next time you cast a spell?
there is an order of executions somewhere but I don’t believe the trigger activates until you have it, so it may be down to how they’re applied
Fire spells is all you need on a cold winter day. Or for a BBQ.
I do like the sound of that risk/reward mechanic.
Love the magic. Thanks for the video. ,,?
magic looks good!
Magic.. pfff who needs magic when you have huge axe.
Or two big axes!
Love the tinge mechanic concept, now we have to see if it’s cool and playable.
yes it is and you’ll see that in the full gameplay video, and also you get an upvote because I recognise the Hyperion when I see him
I read the Video Title as “(The power of one…The power of two)…The power of MAAAAAGIC”
Yayyy for exploding wizards!
Abracadabra!!! I do like the innate risks… and I can see how other factions (cough, Syennan and Scions) might manipulate these magical rolls and curses!
This game looks like it will be slow to play for the first few – or several – sessions. But that’s not really a bad thing. Other systems specialize in faster games; Warcrow doesn’t need to emulate them.
Nice one 🙂
I am very curious now about the different mechanics of the tinge for the Scions. Perhaps they need the tokens to fuel their spells.
Black dice (Like my heart) for the win.
Can’t wait to check this out in another batrep, to get a better grasp on the magic mechanics. I think it would be cool if the environment would dictate the tinge effect. Really don’t know how these spellcasters survived to get this far tbh. Can’t wait to get the rules into my greedy little paws.
Magic is pretty interesting and cant wait to see different units using it.
Another one down.
The more I learn of this system, the more I like the sound of it. Even in this short video, I feel I have a good understanding of the magic system.
I like the block mechanic. It sounds like a lot of fun.
Taint me convinced!
Hope this balances out with none spell casters abilities and doesn’t just drive towards taken either all spell casters or none
Magic can truly be dangerous
Interesting. I like that there is also a risk that you can take when you cast but the result can be amazing.
Looks very interesting
