Been experimenting with underpainting for my Vargulf. (Not sure if Underpainting is the technical term..)

First step was to airbrush some striking colours: green, yellow and some red.

Than I airbrushed a thin coat of a pale skin tone while making sure the underlying layer was showing a little bit.

Than I applied some streaking grime enamel to tie all the colours together.

Underpainting is a quick technique, but I think it adds a lot of depth and visual interest to the models.

The underpainting has really given some great results there. A very striking colour scheme.
