I think there’s something to be said about that aspirational aspect to a convention game to be sure. Getting a taste for what a game/setting/genre could offer and then wanting to do something like that at home.

I’m very much in the “jump in and out” camp with the big day games being something potentially for a convention that lasts a weekend – so a GenCon, AdeptiCon or UKGE. If we think “Salute” I think the quick and fun route is deffo the way to go.

Would be very different at an event like UKGE though as you say. I quite like the idea of a game as a bit of a refuge from the crowds!
