Warlord Gives Us Lip, New Lipped Bases That Is

Warlord Games has released new 40mm round lip bases as well as 25mm x 50mm round lip cavalry style bases that have lips.
I know this is not a new concept and is used by other companies, but I like supporting the company where I get my miniatures from and it may seem like no big deal, but if you are like me you know that you have to build up the area around your miniatures with putty or some other substance to get them to look right.

What’s funny is that the majority of historical gamers, at least in my experience, find the slot-bases to be, I quote “putting miniatures on car tyres” and daftest idea ever.
Now my Vickers and mortars can be based properly. On to the talent portion of the contest 🙂
Yep, definitely a base.
I understand that these bases have been designed to mount the minis with integral bases so why do the pictures show minis with no integral bases mounted on them? It doesn’t show off the concept very well!
Great stuff!
Hmmm. To my mind its a solution looking for a problem. But each to their own!
I would be open to trying those out. I suppose the plastics will come with these instead of the older style flat bases?
