TTCombat Tease Striketeam Commander News For UKGE
May 20, 2024 by brennon
The wheels are turning and a new game for the Dropzone/Dropfleet Commander universe is coming to Kickstarter soon from TTCombat. Whilst previous miniatures games have been rather epic-scale affairs, Striketeam Commander is going to be a 32mm Sci-Fi skirmish game.

A fair few teasers and previews have popped up for Striketeam Commander already like the one above. This shows some of the event-exclusive miniatures that TTCombat have done over the past year or so as well as a nudge towards that upcoming Kickstarter. Why wouldn't you want to build your own Dave Lewis?

If this has got you excited then you will want to either find TTCombat at UK Games Expo in a couple of weeks or watch out online for their announcements around the same time. A lot of folks are very eager to see this Sci-Fi universe expand and a 32mm scale skirmish game seems like a great shout. It might get people interested in the world and then naturally see them migrate to both Dropfleet and Dropzone later on down the line.
If you like the idea of Striketeam Commander, TTCombat are always asking for input and ideas over on Facebook.

I know absolutely nothing about the upcoming game. Did they put on any demo’s at Salute or at Games Expo? The news on this has been rather “hidden” really, TT Combat hasn’t gone into much detail other than a few teaser images (the minis shown were actually previous “event exclusive” minis I believe). The minis teased do look good, however the game needs to be good also (and offer something different from the 101 other skirmish level level sci-fi rulesets out there). It’s going to be a tough genre to break into, they do have the world building/lore from DZC… Read more »
I am pretty sure there will be either demos of the game or at least miniatures on display at Expo. They only recently started to tease the game so I suspect it wasn’t ready at Salute
I have a 28mm PHR walker from an eternity ago (the box says Hawk Wargames for a start) that might have been a spring clean challenge. It’s taken that long it’s going to be mainstream. I’ll be keeping an eye on these.
Not sure whether I can justify another sci-fi game, but I can see some of the miniatures joining my armies in other games, especially the UCM (and one of those sweet, sweet APCs).
That’s the very minimum I’ll be doing as well. I hope the game is a success but I’m sure the models will be very popular.
Please no….
I have too much stuff allready.
Dropzone has a remarkably fun background. I really need this temptation.
Dropfleet and dropzone both are great games with old ideas in a new jacket. I love them
I don’t really need or even want another 32mm SF skirmish game, but I’ll get at least some of the miniatures, having picked up many of their event exclusives over the years. Mainly I hope this will boost interest in the IP behind the game and will reinvigorate the 10mm game, Dropzone Commander!
May I draw your attention to the delightful poster in the background of the first image, advertising the Donightmare? Sounds like a regret everyone should get.
