SACK-O-MATIC!
Yes folks, it’s the nut slapping wonder of the modern world. Come see the mechanical miracle brought to you by the minds of only the squirrelliest of engineers.
The metal reain is definitely something to consider for the great heft of minis but the cost is very prohibitive. I’ll keep to supporting the good work still done with glorious metal.
Morning…yay golden button for murder and beastiality
Great show guys. Not going to lie, definitely was not expecting to see my stuff at the end but a nice little surprise, thanks for that. Thanks to Warren for that really nice comment as well. I’m actually recording a step by step painting guide for them while watching this which I’ll put in the project during the week. I’m kind of torn on the autopaint minis printer thingo, great for a lot of people but after almost 20 years I’ve gotten used to my own painting style and I don’t even really like using minis other people have painted… Read more »
You can play HC on smaller bases . Plenty of people playing in 6 and 10mm using one 60×30 or 80×40 base to represent a unit
Nice discussion on AI although I still believe it was created by gatekeeper hobbyists so they didn’t have to lie to their mums anymore about having a partner.
Anybody else have a red rectangle in the middle of the screen every time all four presenters were on screen?
No red rectangle on mine
Yep
Yeah,me too.
Yeah Im getting too
Happy Sunday XLBSers and COGz ?
A quick course of the wire brush an dettel @avernos ?
Shots fired ?
Lloyd an all the young Dod’s army ?
Yeah … the point of doing something yourself is that you did it yourself.
I’m painting the walls inside my own house myself.
Could have hired professionals to do it for me.
but the satisfaction of having it done myself is worth it as well.
It may not be perfect or fast, but it is mine and I’ve learned a few new skills too.
Good one guy’s and some History to boot
Haggy Soupday!
02:00 Playing sucker? Oh football… XD
06:00 What’s up with the red square in the middle
08:15 eye-surgery-shed!
11:50 paint hanging upside down.
22:22 Lloyd speeding through his pictures makes my head spin
27:00 Lloyd be pegging Romans…. oh my!
34:00 Colour printing will be first. Because it has a higher appeal to most home users than metal
42:00 AI… LLM… glorified batch scripts.
48:00 irritating red square…. WHY IS THERE A RED SQUARE!?
49:00 Waalaaaaaaad
54:20 a lot of plopping
58:20 What’s the topic today again? I forgot
1:03:00 Dust XD
1:15:00 I knew that with the hangover bit!
AI is not touching my hobby
Automatic painting of your minis? Personally I think that’s a step too far. After all the next step is how to combat storing the minis and the problem with table space…that leads to computer wargames (like Rome II or some of the virtual wargaming programs). You have to think is part of the hobby actually painting the minis or not? To me it is, so buying/printing “pre-painted” minis is going to just leave the actual wargame part of the hobby (if that’s the case you may as well play chit style boardgames or the previously mentioned computer games). Perhaps I’m… Read more »
@lloyd just play games like ‘To the Strongest’ or ‘Impetus’ where one base is one unit! At most you will use 2 bases for warbands like Celts.
@lloyd if you want to play ‘Hail Ceasar’ just use one base per unit. It wont make any difference in combat or mechanics. Just use centimetres for movement halved down and use tokens to indicate any formation changes. That is how I do it and it works fine.
When we were playing one ase equals a unit we didn’t even bother with any formation changes. I can’t remember there actually being any except from line into column
With Epic Hail Caeser beng released, I have looked at a few alternatives, Swordpoint/Militesa Mundi, Age of Hannibal by Little Wars TV, Ospreys War of the Republic and Impetus is on my radar.
Maybe alternative rulesets for the Epic ranges could be worth a deep dive for a Sunday Topic, ACW I think has been covered, Naps has a whole host of rules regularly discussed but P&S and Ancients not so often talked about, so maybe they could get covered.
Thinking, what number is on the base of 60mmX20mm could be how many 28mm figures in a unit.
The one thing Ai won’t be able to. do is build Rome for Gerry, he’ll still need Lloyd for that.
Happy Sunday Cogs….
@Lloyd you have done a lovely job on those Romans but you are going to need quite a few more before you can get a game of anything together. I’ll mention Strength and Honour as an option – grid system, small scale minis but will be fine up to heroic 10mm, command boards, fast and fun and the expansion for the Punic wars era is coming out soon (hopefully). On that note please can we see you build Rome, et Carthago delenda est.
