Warlord Roman Auxiliaries Get a Hail Caesar Face Lift
May 27, 2011 by lloyd
The Warlord Auxiliaries are back to kick the ass of most of the known world, this time in a nice new shiny Hail Caesar box.
There are 20 plastic auxiliaries equipped with chainmail, stabbing spears, shortswords and the trademark oval shield. But there’s also a metal Command Group with an Optio, Centurion, standard bearer and hornblower making a total of 24 minis in the box.
Go check them out after all who doesn’t love Roman’s?

definately will be starting an empire army using this range, these minis will make perfect detachments of the main Legion
OK: smaller market, non-captive audience, more minis in a box: excellent value for money.
Someone tell me why GW are offering a third of the miniastures for *more* money and bleating about materials costs when they’ve a bigger market and a captive audience?

cos they make figures out of plastic crack??
At this point buying crack cocaine is probably cheaper then GW minis. And with the new sales restrictions people will probably end up buying their GW minis from the same guys who sell crack.
superb looking models, carn’t wait to see these on the table so that I can throw my chariots at them!
Warlord doesn’t pay insane mall rent like GW does.
Bloody Romans
C’mon yoooouuu Celts! Blue Army! &c
Use dice Evans, or marbles.
You might damage your chariot models if you start chucking them about. 😛
Only thing that is a tad odd is the round bases on a movement tray, but pfff ain’t no big deal.
Look grand with a nice paint job too.
pffft what have the romans ever done for us!!!?!?
the aqueduct?
Roads, Hospitals, education, bathes, sanitation…
haha 😉
They didn’t do anything for the Scots, except build a wall and provide them with some entertaining battles.
As for the round bases, I suspect there’s a movement tray out they they can be placed into, much like the WotR and now FoW ones.
They don’t come on round bases, you can fix them to whatever you like. I have, for skirnish games and then use WOTR trays for battles – best of both worlds.
Immortal Monty Python Jokes?
Also awsome models…love a roman!
I’d like to collect a historical army like this, but nobody plays it. If it was anywhere near as widespread as GW then I’d collect, but…I ‘have’ to spend my cash on a game that actually gets played which is a shame.
Have a chat to some of the locals about it. You might be able to entice them to give it a try (using Warhammer models as proxies to try out the rules) then build things from there.
Also have a chat to your FLGS about it. They might know of a local historical gaming club that don’t advertise as well as they should.
Know what you mean Heretichammer
and the trouble then for me would be which period!
Like someone said above you could always do a conversion job for Empire, or do some Praetorian IG. Have seen some sweet work on Dakka that people are doing.
i love warlord games figures there well worth buying
These Romans are crazy!
Couldn’t resist
Ugh… An Asterix joke ? Here ?
Poor world…
BoW Romain
Hey I learnt to read with Asterix, I collect the comics and its awesome that there is a comic hero in existence who is about the same height as I am
Apart from the excellent figures, fun rules, great range and totally awesome con support…what have Warlord ever done for us?
ok…i see someone already cracked those sort of jokes above….but its so funny its worth doing twice…i guess im the popular plastic peoples front of judeh
Mark Wells.. he’s not the messiah; he’s a W%*&ker! 😉
