Pick Up The Lazy Forger’s New 6mm Scale Depot Terrain
April 30, 2024 by brennon
The Lazy Forger are releasing a new set of 3D printable terrain today for your 6mm Sci-Fi battlefields like those of Full Spectrum Dominance. Dive into this Depot/Hanger set and do battle for the resources that have been stashed there by your enemy.
Depot Set // The Lazy Forger
The new terrain bundle comes complete with the Hanger itself as well as all of those amazing towers that you can dot around the perimeter of your base. The Hanger looks like it is storing all of the fuel and rations for your armies who are marching forth to battle somewhere else on the continent. This then sets the scene for you to get stuck in and blow stuff up although your troops will have to make it past those towers and the guards watching over the approach.
Hanger Interior // The Lazy Forger
As is classic with The Lazy Forger, no detail has been missed on these kits. The interior looks amazing and I love all of the little details on the girders and those battle-scarred walls. I do like that the top comes off so if you want to skirmish around inside the Hanger, you can!
Hanger Open // The Lazy Forger
Hanger Interior Structure // The Lazy Forger
The set will come with the Hanger, Watchtowers, Barrels, Crates, Pallets, Forklifts and additional Stockpiles which can be raised. As you'll know by now, The Lazy Forger are pretty damn good at this 3D Printing lark so you're going to be getting some neat kits that should come off the 3D printer nicely.
Barrels // The Lazy Forger
Tower // The Lazy Forger
Gorgeous terrain for an ever-expanding range that can be used for Full Spectrum Dominance and beyond. As with the rest of The Lazy Forger's range, you can print this at 6mm scale but also go up to 10mm and 15mm without much hassle.
Additionally, The Lazy Forger are also putting together a special discount code for the whole store today. Use DEPOT30 and you'll get 30% off your purchases.
Could you be tempted by this new set of The Lazy Forger terrain?

Must admit I keep looking at his stuff and thinking how nice it would be scaled up to 8mm for use with BattleTech (I’m not a fan of the “official” Hextech stuff from GF9). Alas I’ve yet to branch out into 3D printing and that’s another hobby in itself (plus I don’t seem to have enough time for this one). I’ve noticed that the people you do prints for you never seem to offer any options for rescaling (or are uninterested if you contact them directly) 🙁
Cheers there! I don’t have any LI model nearby to compare, but I’m pretty sure that this piece would fit just right for all the new 8mm stuff.
My infantry humans are about 7.5mm tall, which is pretty much in line with Solar Auxilias, and the terrain is fit for them.
That said, I’m sure that my authorized vendors wouldn’t mind upscaling for you. I’ve got a list of them on the game’s website: https://fsd-wargame.com/
Yup, I remember Battletech being a product of the 80s. So your buildings really seem to fit in with this “grognardy” version of BT that I have. Alas I feel that many offerings for BT are too futuristic, and the retro vibe I get from your buildings (plus the footprint of the buildings being more realistic) just seem to match perfectly. I did reach out to a printer of your buildings here in the UK (I’ll not name them), but they weren’t really interested in rescaling the files to 8mm 🙁
Wait – if it’s for Battletech, it’s fine as is! So many others use our models for BT, and our scale is just right, at least according to them (I’m not a BT player myself)!
Possibly for the warehouse (as that’s a bit scale agnostic) and the big oil silos, but for some of your other buildings with human sized doors and windows (watch towers etc)? But mainly it’s a pet peeve of mine that nearly ALL wargaming buildings are too small (for example most 28mm WW2 buildings have the scale footprint of a single room). For Hextech that constraint is that it needs to fit on the hex map sheets (which is one of the reasons why I don’t like them). But I tend to play on the open Maps (like a traditional wargame… Read more »
