Thanks to the plastic crack dealer known and loved by all, that is our news outlet I purchased the Undead Cavalry and Chariot box set from Wargames Atlantic after checking out the coverage of the kit. It is very much cheaper than the alternative I was planning to do initially in metal, albeit more fragile as plastic for mounting metal riders.
It seems as though there is a bit of a dig needed to find information on barding of Dynastic China. The Tang dynasty seems to have heavy cavalry similar to what is seen featured by caraphracts closer to Europe. I’ve seen lighter armor of what would just be a chestplate and for ease of sculpting effort I’ve opted to go that route. The reins and other barding will get sculpted “pom poms” (for lack of a better description) as it seems a bit too plain.
