It’s been a while since I updated this but progress is definitely being made.

I have built some movement trays following a great tutorial from Matt’s Hobby Hour (see below) and I’ll post some photos of these when I make another batch.

I then proceeded to remove all 150 components for the Gor units from their sprues, clean them up, and then assemble the goat boys.  I had forgotten how mould-line heavy late 2000’s GW plastics were. This was aided by using Tamiya extra thin glue to help melt away some of the lines that ran over details like the fur and fingers, and I also used a batch of sprue-goo (chopped up plastic sprue melted in Tamiya extra thin) to help fill in any joints and gaps. The great thing about sprue-goo is that you can use “clean” tamiya glue then to then blend the goo in….. Just make sure you have plenty of fresh air blowing in as the fumes can get quite intense.

After that slog I set about working on the Minotaurs and Dragon Ogres.

The cow warriors aren’t the best sculpts in my opinion, I do much prefer the Zealot Miniatures Minotaurs (which I think may now be available as 1s&0s files somewhere) but again I’m try to mg to keep this GW official (as much as I can) for now. I may build my Zealot Cows when I inevitably push this army to 2-3000 points.

I built my cows with hand weapon and shield (for points reasons) but wow, the shields are pretty pathetic. I do have Zealot Miniatures shields and they do look much nicer, so I may see if I can magnetise them to swap out for GW events if needed.

The Dragon Ogres were much nicer to build and I have to say they weren’t my favourite sculpt when I saw them released all those years ago, I purposely didn’t add them to my 8th edition chaos warriors. But after building 3 they have grown on me.

They’re a decent size model and when you see them with a Minotaur and a Gor they look quite impressive.

So that’s most of the models now built. I have the Ungors and a Shaman to go but this is definitely the majority out of the way…. So it’s now into some basing.
