Wrath & War Boars Dominate Privateer Press’ Warmachine

March 15, 2024 by brennon

Privateer Press has been releasing some awesome new miniatures for the 35mm Fantasy world of Warmachine. There are a fair few different sets to get a peek at (with more on the way) and a lot of these miniatures are very eye-catching indeed.

Krueger Wrath of Blighterghast - Warmachine

Krueger, Wrath of Blighterghast // Warmachine

We start with Kruegar, Wrath Of Blighterghast. When he fell in battle, his mortal remains were claimed by a mad cult that worship the sentinel dragon. When his body intermingled with dragon blood, he was turned into a terrifying manifestation of fire and blight. When it comes to origin stories, you can't get more metal than that.

With such an awesome miniature, it's probably a good thing that he's a mercenary so that a lot of folks can snap him up and use him in their games. I really like that transition between the font of lava bubbling forth and then the armoured killer that stands above it.

War Pigs

Sticking with the theme of mercenaries, we also have some mad, bad hogs that are looking for a good time.

Emperor Carver Ultimus Esquire III & War Boar MMD47 - Warmachine

Emperor Carver Ultimus Esquire III & War Boar MMD47 // Warmachine

This set represents the awesome Emperor Carver Ultimus Esquire III and the heavily armed War Boar MMD47. Egan Arkadius has been able to bring Ultimus back to the battlefield and he is now a fusion of metal and metal. Most Massive Destruction 47 is the aid to Ultimus and will help him when it comes to smashing the enemies of the Thornfall Alliance.

Two absolutely stunning miniatures I think you'll agree. I think Ultimus looks epic with his flaming sword at the ready but the War Boar isn't far off. Somewhere in a different universe, the Skaven are trying to work out how to do that to their own mechanical creations!

New Warmachine Sets

As well as these character miniatures, there are also two sets for you to considering snapping up and adding to your collection. One of these is the Orgoth Cursebound Cadre.

Cursebound Cadre - Warmachine

Cursebound Cadre // Warmachine

This set comes with Oriax, The Soul Slaver, a Ravener Heavy Warbeast, the Ghrotten Keeper, a Ghrotten Champion, three Gnashers and Halexus, The Warlord.

Oriax The Soul Slayer - Warmachine

Oriax, The Soul Slayer // Warmachine

Here's some of the background to this particular set of the Cursebound...

"Weaving blasphemous soul magic, Oriax has the capacity to dominate both beast and machine. He is accompanied by Halexus, The Warlord, a soul-starved herald and bloody avatar of the Fellgoeth infernals. Held in their thrall are the Gnashers, Ulkor shock troopers dominated by the maligned will of their paired hell-wrought weapons, and the massive Ghrotten Champion and Keepers, fearsome warriors likewise slaved to their infernal arms. And most terrible of all, the abominable Raveners: part beast and part machine, these howling monstrosities are the cursebound equivalent of the heaviest warjacks and are devoted utterly to their master’s fearsome will."

Another awesome set that is on the way for those looking to be suitably villainous in their games of Warmachine.

Halexus The Warlord - Warmachine

Halexus, The Warlord // Warmachine

Lop off those heads and start reaping some souls I say! If you're intent in taking your Orgoth forces in a slightly different direction then these might be the miniatures to snap up. They've got some familiar touchstones that mark them out as Orgoth but with a distinct personality of their own as well.

Last but not least, we have the Khymaera Shadowflame Shard Army Expansion.

Shadowflame Shard Army Expansion - Warmachine

Shadowflame Shard Army Expansion // Warmachine

This set features Nyxyan, The Stygian Coil, three Talon Lashers, three Wyrmspine Cinderbacks, a Wraithwing Paragon, Spinner and Ryvyn, The Onyx Rampant.

Wraithwing Paragon - Warmachine

Wraithwing Paragon // Warmachine

Some more amazing miniatures from the world of Immoren, pushing forward the updated designs for this new edition of the game. The Wraithwing Paragon is pretty darn stunning and it's great to see more of this dragon theme being carried through the range.

Are you going to be diving into this collection of new miniatures for Warmachine?

"When he fell in battle, his mortal remains were claimed by a mad cult that worship the sentinel dragon (very metal)..."
