Better you should use a Mask!
Dont need mask while painting with acrylic paint :p
you don’t need one, but its not a bad idea. I once airburushed my mates ultramarines army, and the day after I had blue snot from breathing it in 😛

Yeah, it’s murder if you have asthma, like me… I’ve only tried it briefly (I don’t own an airbrush myself) but I’ll be sure to use a mask next time.

The story is he went to university.
I think the truth is that Darrell lost to Mildred at the old folks home, and she took John as her winnings.

While I’m not into historical wargaming – I found this a very good video, especially for those of us unfamilliar with these air-brush gadgets ! I may get one of those myself now.

Nice Vid, It has piqued my interest in getting an airbrush now, oh, and flames of war!
I’ve looking at starting a ww2 force as my next project and this has convinced me that I may need an air brush.
nice one, an airbrush really is a great tool. though I think he was putting the paint on too thick should have been a few thin coats, or even as many as a dozen rather than one or two heavy ones. I suppose maybe for the time frame.

I dont play FoW but I really like the way you painted it, moar videos!
An airbrush is def a nice tool to have. I use mine all the time.
However beware using regular Vallejo paints. They need a lot of thinning and have clumpy pigment (very fine, lots of particles and sticky) and have a tendency to clog the tip.
Citadel ABs well with a little thinning, even the foundation range (gasp!)
I use Liquitex mediums with a bit of water, it needs to be near the consistancy of milk.
I’ve heard Tamiya ABs well, I’m planning on trying them on a scale kit next month.
Good video John, but there is some details that could have been added in: Paint some black around the muzzle of the gun, it will look so much better. More weathering would have been good, I know he said it was going into the battle of Kursk, but it would have seen action before presuming of course, it had seen battle at Toulon, France in November 1942. (They started production of Tiger 1s in August 1942) A historic military fan goes to work. XD
I’m not aware of any Tiger tanks taking part in that battle. The only ones prior to the Kursk action that I have heard of, were one that were sent directly to Africa and fought in Tunisia in late 42′, as well as a group sent to Leningrad in September 42′. I’m not sure if any of the ones sent to Leningrad survived though
I thought there were Tigers in Toulon… Oh well.
Great to see FoW on here again. I have just bought an airbrush after trying to do this with the GW spray gun & failing.
I have found Vallejo paints seperate out quickly and middlestone in particular ends up coming through as a lime green wash once the sand colour has settled out. The dude in the hobby shop suggested getting a mini sonicator & giving the paint a treatment in that to break up the particle size of the pigment. Anyone else tried this?
You need to add a bit of gloss or matte medium to the mix, keeps the paint stable.
