These miniatures have been designed to represent the Early Saxons, Jutes, Angles and Danes that would have been battling across Europe and the British Isles during the 4th to 6th Century. As well as being good for battling the Romano British, you could also have them being hired by some of the Late Roman forces of the period to fight alongside them as mercenaries.

The set comes with a whole bunch of different head options alongside plenty of fur cloaks for when you're battling the cold as much as your foes. There are also loads of weapon choices including swords, spears, javelins, hand axes and more.

You'll be able to bring thirty-six miniatures to the tabletop with a great mix of different weapons and accessories. This means that the set is perfect for those looking to set up skirmish warbands with plenty of individuality.

As well as their variety of weapons, you can also get your hands on the smaller, round shields that were great for parrying and punching with. I didn't realise until I read it here that the shield wall tactic that seems so inherent to the Saxons didn't come around until later. However, small and large shields have been included in the set so you can do what you like.

Could you be tempted by some of these new Early Saxon Unarmoured Warriors?
