Games Workshop is expanding the options available to you as part of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy this weekend with a new boxed set for the Solar Auxilia and some new miniatures for your Legions, Traitor and Heretic.
Solar Auxilia Battle Group // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy
Shop Warhammer: The Horus Heresy @ Store.OnTableTop
The set for the Solar Auxilia Battle Group contains twenty-eight new miniatures in plastic for the first time. You get a five-man Line Command Section which is made up of an Auxilia Troop Master and four Auxilia Veterans. They come with various upgrade options including comms, standards and all manner of weapons. They then lead a band of twenty Auxilia armed with Las Rifles. This will form the core of your fighting force and I imagine you might need quite a few more to make a dent in an army of Heretic Space Marines.
Finishing off the set, you also get a Leman Russ Strike Tank alongside the equally tough-looking Dracosan Armoured Transport. Capping things off, there is also the Aeton Pattern Heavy Sentinel which gives you another clanking gun platform. The set also comes with transfer sheets for your different vehicles and the rules for this army can be found in Liber Imperium – The Forces of the Emperor Army Book.
With all that being said, maybe you want to take on the hobby challenge and produce an army of Solar Auxilia that have fallen under the sway of Horus. Tinker with some of the iconography and play around with the schemes to match them to a Traitor Legion they have pledged themselves to.
New Characters
As well as the new miniatures for the Solar Auxilia, there are some new characters for the Space Marines of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. The Stormseer Consul leads the way for your White Scars.
Stormseer Consul // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy
These shamans of Chogoris can predict and control the weather, using it to outwit their foes, bringing them down in terrifying storms. They can also use their psychic abilities to shield their allies and get them close to the enemy so they can strike. This miniature comes with two head options for you to run with and in Forge World resin.
Drawing power from a different source, we also have the Dark Emissary Consul.

The Staff Of Dark Authority that this Consul uses allows them to make sure that the followers of Warmaster Horus meet his exacting standards. If you don't step up and do your bit then the Dark Emissary has no qualms about ending your life. This is another of the Forge World resin miniatures for you to add to your Sons Of Horus army.
Last but not least we have the Apothecarion Detachment who act as your medics on the battlefield, watching over fallen Battle Brothers.
Apothecarion Detachment // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy
These soldiers can aid those who have been wounded or perhaps even deliver a final mercy should they be beyond aid. As with all Apothecaries, their main duty is to retrieve the genes-eed of fallen Astartes so it they can be passed on and used within the Legion. Again, this is a Forge World resin kit which can be painted up to match whatever Legion you have chosen. I like the helmet design on the Apothecary on the right as it's something I've not seen before.
Will you be picking up some of these new Warhammer: The Horus Heresy miniatures?
