Warlord Games Tease New 28mm Tank Game, Achtung Panzer!
February 6, 2024 by brennon
Warlord Games are full of new game ideas for 2024 it seems. We've got their new game, Vanguard, coming soon, but they also announced that Achtung Panzer! will be up for pre-order very soon! Next week soon!
Achtung Panzer! // Warlord Games
Pre-orders will start next week on 16th February ahead of a full release in April. This is going to be Warlord's take on the tank-based miniatures game which will use their existing 28mm miniatures range and of course, your own that you've probably got stocked up. I imagine that John might be taking a closer look at this one as more information starts to pop up.
This means that we're going to be spoilt for choice when it comes to tank games. Battlefront Miniatures have World Of Tanks and Clash Of Steel in 15mm plus Warlord Games are now giving folks some fun to dive into at 28mm with Achtung Panzer! It will be interesting to see if it's an evolution of their Tank War rules or something entirely new.
Will you be diving into Achtung Panzer!?

Scaled to 28mm? Hmm… sounds like few models in play until you embiggen the board. Might just be a kick into playing more WWII in a scale larger than most games for that genre.
Plot twist! You don’t need a table. Just some painters tape and mark gaming space on the floor.
“Fury”
oh oh
Has someone checked on @johnlyons ?
FoW already looks like a cross between a parking lot and demolition derby, so how Warlord thinks 28mm will work on the average table is beyond me.
Maybe it will focus on individual tanks and their crews – that would an interesting dynamic change.
They also thought it would be a good idea to launch a 1:72 scale version of Blood Red Skies. It plummeted in to bargain bins.

Thankfully we already have that game, it is called ‘What A Tanker!’.
Haven’t played it – I’ve heard it’s good.
Looking forward to fins out the rules of course… never liked the tank combat in Bolt action, all based on a D6 roll…. the rules “battlegroup” was way better, 2D6 i think with a chart based on the Pen of the round Vs the armour…something like that…
If I can just use my excessive amount of Bolt Action tanks for a beer and pretzels game, then I am definitely picking up the rules
