And Blues Brothers? What impeccable timing – one of my “jamming buddies” is having a hard time of it right now, his wife is in and out of hospital and he’s running around trying to keep all his music events going.

You never expect anyone to seriously take you up on it, do you?
It’s like “we both agree I’m just being polite, and you politely decline and we’re both done with being polite”.
So I couldn’t really say no when he asked if I’d cover one of his (solo acoustic) gigs.
A “blues party” in a retirement home.
