Mantic Games has now returned to the world of The Walking Dead: All Out War! Pre-orders are now open for a variety of different sets so whether you're a newcomer to the game or a grizzled veteran, you will be able to get your hands on something for the game.
Collector's Edition // The Walking Dead: All Out War
For newcomers, we have The Collector's Edition which contains everything that you need to start playing the game. You get eleven survivors including Rick Grimes, Carl, Sandra, Patrick, Riam, Derek, Brian Blake, Peg Leg Dale and the awesome Lee and Clementine from the Telltale Games series. You'll also get a whole host of Walker miniatures and a bunch of terrain including barricades, scatter, trucks and cars. All of these can be used on the paper playmat alongside all of the other accessories you'd need to start playing.
Collector's Edition - Contents // The Walking Dead: All Out War
If you've not snapped up any of the miniatures from The Walking Dead: All Out War before, they are great. The quality of the sculpts is top notch and they're a joy to paint. Additionally, the game itself is well put together. The mechanics are fun and the gameplay always ends up being tense and quite cinematic. It's good that the focus zooms in on the Survivor Vs Survivor experience with the Walkers being an ever-present threat that is out to get everyone. It makes your scenarios a fun mix of semi-cooperative gameplay and out-and-out backstabbing!
What If I'm A Veteran?
For those that have potentially already got their hands on a bunch of The Walking Dead: All Out War looking to plug some gaps in their collection or just make sure they're up to date, you have a few options.
Anthology // The Walking Dead: All Out War
The Anthology is a good place to get all of the published material in one place for The Walking Dead: All Out War. It contains everything you need from the previous releases as well as the latest changes thanks to FAQs. The book also includes a bunch of content and scenarios to help enhance your games and give you plenty to play over the coming months and years. You'll note that this book was included in the Collector's Edition and it's also in the Essentials Set 2024.
Essentials Set // The Walking Dead: All Out War
The Essentials Set is there for those who already have a bunch of miniatures but need the new cards and rules updates to get stuck into games. You get the Anthology Book, Event Deck, Equipment Deck, Tokens and Dice. If you had the previous Starter Set and maybe a few of the expansions, maybe this is the set to snap up.
The Commonwealth!
A brand new collection of miniatures has also been added into the mix for The Walking Dead: All Out War. The Commonwealth are stepping up and trying to stamp their authority on this post-apocalyptic situation.
The Commonwealth // The Walking Dead: All Out War
This set comes with Pamela, Lance, Princess, Mercer and four Commonwealth Soldiers with their tactical gear and heavy weapons. Very much the other end of the spectrum when it comes to survivors in The Walking Dead universe. Find out more about The Commonwealth below...

Pre-ordered the Anthology and some cards. This is a good candidate for a spring clean for me.
I was really excited about this but now I’ve got some minor qualms. I read the email I received from Mantic and this bit left me a bit uneasy wrt the Anthology Book. “If you want a complete set of cards with everything up until the Commonwealth Collection, you may want to consider those decks. In time we will also have the latest points and rules for All Out War in the Mantic Companion! You’ll get 2 free slots in the list builder just for registering, and unlimited lists plus the latest rule book included at no extra cost for… Read more »
It’s Mantic … not GW.
If points change then it may be because the new factions have upset the balance a bit.
And if a bigger community is playing the game then there’s a chance point costs may be revised sometime in the future too.
I’d say the anthology is a bit like the ‘clash of kings’ supplement for Kings of War.
It’s the App. I’m in two minds about. The need to pay a subscription so I get the up to date rules. Mind you it depends on the cost. I gave in wrt Google – at 70p per month it was an easier option than trying to clean up my files to save space.
With all the better known bad guys in the series, they really had to relaunch the starter set with the no-name enemies that literally had no names in the comic book?
As I have a lot of the event and equipment cards from the previous release do I need to buy the decks again? Are they different from the “Old” cards?
