Osprey Games alongside Fabio Lopiano and Mandela Fernandez-Grandon have now released their new board game, Sankore: The Pride Of Mansa Musa. Featuring gorgeous artwork from Ian O'Toole, this is another impressive addition to Osprey's board game collection.
Sankore: The Pride Of Mansa Musa // Osprey Games
Designed as an interactive and mid-weight eurogame for one-to-four players, you will be looking to rise in fortune and prestige as part of the University of Sankoré in 14th-century Timbuktu. Players must manage one of the schools within the university by enrolling and graduating their pupils, teaching classes and adding to the curriculum. You will be able to delve deeper into theology, law, mathematics and astronomy and as you finish the construction of the university, the value that the empire places on each discipline will determine how you score.

Sankore also comes with a solo mode where you will be playing against one automated scholar. They will still be trying to pip you to the post so you'll need to work through your decision-making to see if you can race to the top before them.
Whilst Sankore looks intimidating, these games often turn into well-oiled machines once you've got to grips with the mechanics. I am all for a good-looking eurogame as well and this ticks that box!
Will you be picking up Sankore?
