Warlord Explore The American Civil War With New 28mm Sets
January 15, 2024 by brennon
Warlord Games has announced that they are going to be diving back into the American Civil War but not in their Epic Battles scale. New 28mm kits are on the way for the Confederates and the Union for those diving into Black Powder and other games.
New American Civil War Miniatures // Warlord Games
There will be a pair of new infantry boxed sets that will come with Warlord Resin miniatures usable by the Union and the Confederates. The first set comes with soldiers advancing whilst the second is in a firing line. The sets will also come with full four-man command groups and flag sheets so you can represent whichever faction you want. Fly those colours and get your blue and grey paints out.
American Civil War - Confederate Infantry Regiment // Warlord Games
This should give you a good core of infantry for you to start expanding or starting your American Civil War armies. There are a lot more releases in the pipeline from Warlord Games that should cover some of the major characters and the more unique elements of both the Union and the Confederates during the conflict.
If you're looking for artillery then Warlord Games are making sure that you've got some options.
6-pounder Field Gun // Warlord Games
A new Artillery Battery Box is on the way which will feature three guns. They can be assembled in different ways featuring the likes of the old 12-pounder or you can go for the more modern Parrott Rifles. We're still trying to make sure that Shay stays on target with his small-scale American Civil War army but this might start drawing him to a larger scale. We shall see.
Will you be keeping an eye out for this new set of American Civil War releases?

Why would Warlord even bother when the Perry Miniatures range is so vast, and far superior to anything Warlord could hope to release?
I would assume they believe there is a market for it.
Meh they dropped the ball, they should have aimed to fill gaps in the market not double up. I would have bought 2 boxes of dismounted cavalry which we need in plastic. Instead they’re playing catch up 5 years after Perry.
Plastic Zouaves firing or plastic mounted cavalry would both have been a better idea.
