Warmachine’s New Shadowflame Shard Range Grows

Privateer Press dropped a few more previews of what's coming out soon for their 35mm Fantasy wargame, Warmachine. The Shadowflame Shard grows in power with a couple of new miniatures that offer up a bit of draconic spice to proceedings.

Nyxyan, The Stygian Coil // Warmachine

First up, we have Nyxyan, The Stygian Coil who certainly channels a lot of that "snakeman" energy. If you removed some of the armour and the mask, they wouldn't look out of place in a Conan story. I like the additional adornment alongside the armour and I reckon you could do something suitably evil when it comes to the glow coming from that helmet.

The most impressive of the new previews though was this masterfully crafted Wyvern. The wingspan on this thing looks wild and I think the pose is great, especially with it rising off the ground as if it's about to crash down on its next foe.

There is also that nice mix between the organic and the synthetic in the design which I think should prove to be interesting for painters when it comes to working on these miniatures. You could go for something clean as you see here or make the miniature look suitably grim and horrible with lots of blood on display!

A Khadorian Bonus!

As well as the miniatures for the Shadowflame Shard, we also have a new miniature for the forces of Khador popping up.

Sergeant Sergei Krol // Warmachine

Sergeant Sergei Krol looks like quite a beast and it's neat that he is laden down with both melee and ranged weapons. I'm not a massive fan of the tiny head in the middle of it all although that's what it would be like if he was strapped into this armour. I think a lot of folks will probably end up giving him a helmet!
