About the Project

While I have owned every Silver Bayonet release since the inception of the game, and even primed quite a few miniatures, the troupes starred back at me from behind their windowed shelves, beckoning me to lead them against their supernatural enemies. So on this unseasonably warm November Saturday, I brushed off my Napoleonic Wars tomes and set on the path toward the Odd. Note: As an exercise in using emergent technology, I decided to collaborate with ChatGPT to generate characters backstories and had great fun doing so. The AI usually provides a very solid foundation which can be then worked upon and adapted to one's narrative.

Setting Up the First Solo Scenario: Wolf Pack

Now that two factions have be readied, I decided to try the game with the first solo scenario:” Wolf Pack, for which I now had to design markers and paint creatures. I chose the solo scenario mainly because it does not mandate random monsters rolls and thus allow me to focus upon a finite number of creatures. Competitive games will require that I paint a fair number of varied creatures and I really wanted to get to the table as soon a possible.

For the clue markers, I picked a group of casualty miniatures I had ordered from Wargames Foundry. These miniatures were very fun to paint and gave me me opportunities to paint new uniform types. I thought they would make them appropriate markers to begin with, and I expect to design more generic ones later on.

For the dark wolves, I decided to use a GW kit that had been languishing on my shelves for a while, the Dire Wolves, for Age of Sigmar.  They are larger than most wolf miniatures and , well, undead, but I thought they would fit the them pretty well.

Setting Up the First Solo Scenario: Wolf Pack

These werewolves had been languishing  in a box for a long while and finally made their way to the painting table. They are from Blue Giant Studios, a producer of amazing miniatures (I am particularly fond of their yeti and will one day afford it).
