I can only agree that the old weekenders and xlbs that were filmed in studio had a significantly higher production value. Since the change to a “sitting in my own room” format I find myself choosing to view the weekender on Youtube so I can skip the news for products that doesnt intrest me. And quite a few times I dont even view XLBS, which used to be my favorite part. Its just not the same looking at pictures of hobby as it is looking at the crew showing their hobby on the table in the studio. I remember Warren talking about the shows format being inspired by some show with a number of women sitting around a table talking about some subject (think it was a british show). That concept is all but gone. To me there is something with the studio set-up that makes it more professional.

Being that this subject is bought up every now and then, it seems to me that there is something to it. Now, I might be apart of a “vocal minority” on the subject, its impossible for me to tell. I would like to propose that OTT could do a community survey, maybe even one that covers more than just this single question. Through a survey a lot of knowledge about how community members view the content could be found out. I guess the team has data on number of views and other statistics that a website produce. A survey could support that type of data if it exists.

I hvae seen that there are other articles than just “new product” articles being published lately. Not sure if thats an old thing being picked up again, or if I just missed them for some time. Im happy to see those articles, and enjoy reading them. That is to me more quality content, then only “the latest product released by company X”.

I hope the old weekender and XLBS format come back.
