As someone living in a town that’s currently loudly struggling with the idea of 200 migrants arriving i think the idea of 60 species of alien rocking up taking over the beach towel supply and best spots by the pool would likely cause some grumbles…..and bring out more of the the angry loons…..luckily we don’t have to worry about soylent green cereal or Wallace meat just yet thanks to it having been a hoax show, well done in that channel 4 brass eye tradition. I’m reminded of a 2000ad future shocks story about aliens who visit and claim to be humanitarian. Everyone gets excited that they come in peace but it turned out they just eat humans

if warran or anyone else really do want generic “i cant believe they are not cadian” try the amazing lovely people at vanguard minis who do novan empire that resemble jungle fighters, death korps, cadians, tallern, steel legion and elysian drop troops as well as orks and others -6mm but hey humans are smaller than transhuman….i love that old imperial army painting, think it was the necromundun spiders in line advance, that box set was my very first grim dark buy waaay back in my 1st year of comprehensive, loved the old guard look

I’ll have to watch it later but Eldar of both kinds (three of you count exodites with cool dinosaur lasers) during the Great Crusade. Basically all aliens of all types are around from bio/mechanically engineered bugs (Flight of the Eisenstein) to giant Murder Arachnids, Demons, Orks, Xenos Coalitions are pretty common with many different species, the Hrud who are still around in 40K are pretty interesting. For years governments suppressed the idea that Aliens may or may not exist. Now all of a sudden they’re acknowledging that they do and are releasing ckassified info. This is for one of two reasons 1) It’s a massive distraction and it’s a load of okd codswallop or 2) They know something is on it’s way and they’re drip feeding us to prepare for what’s coming.

I don’t think contact with aliens if they exist will be to the benefit of humanity.

Aeronatica is a great way to get air unit’s for attacks in 40k game’s plus you can get all the stormeagles but as you have said they have stopped making them.?

I still have my original Xbox and 360, never got anything newer from Xbox. I don’t have that game though. It is just that tabletop games have far better graphics and allow for more customization.

Until I see any credible sources talking about extra terrestrials having visited Earth, I am not believing much about it. The news is just trying to make money by blowing up stories out of proportions and ex-military people are EX-military for a reason….. The only reason I can think of them visiting our planet is to study a civilization far less developed then them and maybe see some correlation between their own history.

The problem for me with the Horus Heresy setting is the lack of the xenos that you’d have in the 40k universe. Doing the Great Crusade does sound interesting, but the problem I usually run into is by making your own rules or games if often not that easy to get games with other people to play with. And I honestly don’t trust GW making a good or fun game.

I don’t believe for a second that intelligent aliens have visited Earth, let alone that the US has found any, it fails Occam’s razor. They’d need more evidence than just saying yes, to the world.
Looking forward to seeing the end result of those miniatures Gerry, and to find out if you’ll be brave enough to try a similar technique on some Moonstone miniatures.
