Unboxing: Bolt Action British 25pdr Howitzer & Limber
February 3, 2015 by dignity
Justin and John take a look at the British 25pdr Howitzer & Limber Kit from Warlord for their Bolt Action WWII game.
This kit, which is a combination of both metal and resin, has Justin worried when he faces John in their upcoming Bolt Action battles.
How many would you have in your army?
My elderly mother loves Pugs Justin, im afraid John would fall into the general category of “stupid Boy” as thats what she call anything daft or that disagrees with her lol
As for me well the avatar says it all Jack Russells rule.
For once I agree with Justin, I like how pugs look.
Maybe he isnt pointing so much as giving a visible que to fire aswell as Shouting.
You’re right to be a little worried, Justin. The 25-pounder is one of the most solid and ubiquitous pieces of British equipment of World War 2. Outranged German 7.5cm howitzers and could usually reach long enough to drop counter-battery fire on the bigger German 10.5cm as well (yes, that’s light arty dropping CB fire on **medium** artillery). And the British had tons of these, used them all through the way, and became very adept at laying down ridiculous sheets of fire (El Alamein is a great example) . . . although @johnlyons is right, the barrage scene in “A Bridge… Read more »
Grr … That’s: “used them all through the WAR.”
When captured in Normandy the first thing that a German general wanted to see was the automatic loading 25pdrs
Great unboxing guys. Fun to see the product and how you two are upgrading your Bolt Action forces. Keep these coming, and when you get it painted and based, bring it back just to show us how it looks. Love the before and after shots.
My favourite part of “A Bridge too Far.” is when the British launch their big artillery preparation and 25 pounders cook off for a solid minute strait. YES!
Good timing! Bought one myself at the weekend – do like the idea of having 4 of them mind you… 😉
great unboxing of a nice model, but Artillery in BA just does not work well, it also highlights the range issue. BA is a skirmish game and this gun has a 7.6mile range…bit beyond the table i think.
nice unboxing it great watching you guys winding each other up about how you are going to kill the others army.
Maybe Justin could try the German 105mm? Or heavy mortars? Fight fire with fire…
Great timing with the review, ill be picking one up soon for my Gurhka/commado army.
Thanks fellas. This is one of the very few bits of kit for my late war Brits still left on my Warlord Games wishlist.
