What Monstrous Minis Are Hasslefree Making?
February 2, 2015 by dracs
It looks like a some sneaky pics of Hasslefree sculptor Kev's workbench have appeared on Facebook letting us see a couple of the creations he's working on.
All of this is pretty cool, we have a nice selection of modern soldiers, axe wielding barbarians and skeletons. However, there is something in particular that catches the eye.
What is that monster?! It looks like someone raised a werewolf from the dead!
I love this sculpt. Not only does it look unlike any other undead creature we have seen, but even at this green stage of the sculpt we can see that the attention to detail with the anatomy is impressive. With stretches of muscle and exposed bone, this thing should be simple but effective to paint and will serve as a fantastic monster in both large scale wargames or smaller dungeon delves.
Do you hope Hasslefree bring out this monster soon?

Kev normaly sculpts from The bones up.(the plethora of naked minis are casts he then clothes and accessorises)
So it’s likley it won’t be an undead wolf thing in the end might be just a wolf thing (if I remember correctly I think it’s just a side project/bit of fun and not something that is planned to go into production)
@Joerugby-Yep, can’t see it being a skeleton/Z type.
Whatever it will be, it will be ace, but as Joe has pointed out, Kev sculpts from the bones (or at least often a naked torso) up. Clothing etc is then added in layers and this just adds to the quality of Hasslefree sculpts, giving clothing, and poses a very natural feel.
It also means there’s a plethora of naked/semi naked sculpts that have been available at one time or another.
Tom Meier used to (and as far as I know still does) carry out the same technique with his sculpts.
Those do look interesting.
the zombie werewolf looks interesting.
