Play Out World Domination Quickly With Risk Strike Card Game

Risk is one of those games that I reckon everyone has played at one point or another. It can also last a bloody long time. Well, Avalon Hill has now released a new card game version of Risk called Risk Strike which can be played in twenty minutes.

Much like with regular Risk, you choose which continent that you want to attack, deploy your troops and roll some dice to start your battles. You can also use a set of Tactics Cards to sabotage your enemies, bombard them from afar or perhaps spy on what they have planned. Conquering continents earns you Domination Coins and the first person to two Domination Coins becomes the winner. The classic Risk feel is there but in a quick, compact, travel-style game which could be played whilst out and about on holiday.

You claim those Continent Cards and Domination Coins by collecting a complete set through battle in a style of gameplay that reminds me of the quick Monopoly variant, Monopoly Deal. That game did take the classic board game and make it a lot quicker and easier to play, all without the family arguments.

I think it would be nice to give this a go and see how it actually works. I am all for world domination and if it can be played out over the course of twenty minutes, I could see this being good fun to try.
