Gale Force Nine Announce New World Of Tanks Starter Set
June 9, 2023 by brennon
Gale Force Nine has announced a brand new Starter Set and more for those diving into the World Of Tanks Miniatures Game. Kicking things off, there is a set of four tanks that you can pick up for getting started in this clash between some of the best armour of World War II and beyond.

The set comes with four tanks that have been pre-painted (primed in different colours) and come with all of the different components, accessories and more you need for playing the game. This set focuses on the impressive German Maus which is a heavyweight of the period alongside a Soviet IS-3, British Centurion Mk.1 and the American T29. Because of the nature of World Of Tanks, you can dive into this with two players or even more and either combine these tanks into teams or use them individually if you prefer, depending on the game mode you play.

As well as the tanks (in 1:100 scale) you also get all of the different crew, module and upgrade cards that you need for customising your set of tanks, diving into the meta and working out what works best during your games. There are also all of the dice, tokens and terrain that you need for setting up your first games.
You can find out more about the Starter Set HERE and see whether or not this revamped entry point for the World Of Tanks Miniatures Game is for you. I like that it has been updated and tweaked with new packaging and tank options for newcomers.
A Wave Of World Of Tanks Add-Ons
As well as the Starter Set, there are also some new supplements coming out to support your growing tank collection. There are themed sets which are focused on specific nations.
German Tank Platoon // World Of Tanks Miniatures Game
The German Tank Platoon comes with the Tiger I, STUG III AUSF.G and PZ.KPFW.IV AUSF H. You also have the UK Tank Platoon which is thankfully much easier to type and includes the Cromwell, Churchill VII and the Valentine.

Moving on to the third faction, there is the M3 Lee, M4A1 Sherman and M10 Wolverine.
USA Tank Platoon // World Of Tanks Miniatures Game
Last but not least, there is also the USSR Platoon which comes with a T-34, KV-1S and SU-100. Plenty of iconic tanks that you might want to dive into and use in your collection instead.

All of these are available alongside a series of smaller sets which come with individual tanks. It should be noted that each of the Platoons comes with all the bits and pieces you need for running the tanks that come in them. There are a lot of tanks for you to choose from already meaning that you can play around with the meta and make the best group of tanks that you can.
Will you be looking to snap up the new Starter Set or perhaps some of these Platoons for the World Of Tanks Miniatures Game?

I haven’t had a swing at this but have friends who love the game and play whenever able so will make sure to pass this on if they haven’t seen it already
Nice a mouse loose about this field.
I’m glad Tanks! is still alive in some form as I find it to be a hugely fun rule system But I’m still baffled by the idea of chaining it to the world of tanks brand.
Maybe it’s just me but I can’t wrap my head around the vehicles included in the starter set. None of the iconic vehicles of WWII, the cold war, or modern conflicts. Instantly a turn off for me but to each their own
